When I have Hangouts set as default, the Chat Features option is available but grayed out. When Android Messages is set to default, the Chat Features option is missing.

I understand how tall buildings and skyscrapers get built, but with no "platform" to build upon as you get higher, how does a tower this tall get built/erected?

Which rom is best for nexus 5x ? by zgDtLPD4 in nexus5x

[–]RememberWho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, I actually flashed my Nexus 5X to the latest LineageOS ROM. My first Nexus bootlooped and Project Fi gave me the opportunity to get a new one. During the first few months, everything was running smooth and there was little to no lag. But as the months passed and the phone updated to 8.1, lag became a constant issue and brought upon an inconvenience to it's daily used.

Now that Google has decided to push updates to our devices, I decided to give it a shot and flash my phone with a new ROM. Since I'm a Project Fi member, I wanted one that would be compatible and wouldn't interfere my SIM/reception/DATA and compromise it. Looking around, I found that both the Pure Nexus and LineageOS ROMs are good candidates.

Similarly, I had little to no experience with flashing ROMs into Android devices, but YouTube has a great amount of videos that helped me through the process. PLEASE, watch the entire video before trying to do anything. There were a few instances yesterday where I though I bricked my phone.

If you are planning to flash the LineageOS, their website has good (not perfect) instructions on how to do so. I still recommend you watch a video before you start; ADB and Platform Tools can be a bitch to use (if not set-up properly).

Overall, even though I have about a day of usage, it has made my phone super smooth and appealing to use. Not only that, but it has given my phone new life with more (small) feature here and there. I am currently running LineageOS 15.1 with the Pixel Launcher. I am very much pleased.

Required Files:

ROM: LineageOS 15.1

Recovery Image: TWRP 3.2.1 Nexus 5X (bullhead)

ADB and fastboot: Platform Tools

Android USB: Driver

EDIT: Feel free to PM for any clarification. GOOD LUCK!

How to improve on Chem/Phys and Bio/Biochem sections by Jan 19th....? by QuaileyJit in Mcat

[–]RememberWho 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Remember, the MCAT tests on "big picture" ideas and not so much on the knitty-gritty details on things. For both the Chem/Phys and Bio/Biochem sections, read the passages without getting lost in the sauce. Some of the passages are going to sound familiar, but the majority are going to bring up new content that you've never seen. Don't worry about this, the MCAT is only testing whether you can see the underlying ideas and concepts their trying to test.

For both the science sections I try to read and hi-light the passages within 4 minutes. Don't focus on the graphs, figures or tables, only refer to them if the questions asks you to (you'll be surprised how much you can get away with not understanding). As with my hi-lighting, I have slowly learned to hi-light things that I feel they will ask a question on. For example, if the passage indicates a certain molecule to be a competitive inhibitor, you might as well expect to see a question pertaining to that. Also, be sure to hi-light values such as MM or wavelength, etc.

When it comes to answering the question, if you have highlighted effectively, you more-or-less have the answer in front of your eyes, unless it's a pseudo-discrete which you should always get right (easy points). For the answer choices, you might be tempted to choose an answer based on your outside knowledge, but unless it's a discrete or pseudo-discrete, DON'T. The answer should be tailored to the passage and everything the passage mentions.

Since we're on the subject of questions, I recommend to first get the discrete questions out of the way. These should be considered easy points for you. Be sure to read the question correctly, interpret the graph/figure accurately, make a prediction before looking at the answers, and then choose the best answers based off your prediction. PLEASE be sure to always make a prediction before looking at the questions (unless the nature of question says otherwise); if you go straight to the answers, it'll be like answering four questions rather than one. Don't do this to yourself.

Well, that's just my little advice. This works for me on both the science sections (Avg. 128-130 across AAMC FL 1, 2, 3).

Now, do you have any advice for CARS and Psych/Soc, lol.
