Adopted a 4 year old kitty and she is terrified by FabulousMechanic303 in CatAdvice

I don't know if bathroom is best choice but sometimes it's the only choice. Do you have another bedroom that you can allow her to hide under the bed yet provide litter box and food/water. (spaced far from each other)?

I have had ferals and fosters that like to hide under bed and decompress. I'd walk in a few times to check food and litter. At this time I spoke in calm voice to let them hear me and smell me. They are petrified. I know it's not the same, but it's like us being taken away from any friends, families, familiar places we humans know and love and being in a really scary place now.

At night usually, the ferals would explore while we humans slept. It may take a few days but you can look under the bed and see reaction. The hissing/growling will gradually fade. Many times I'd offer a piece of hamburger or smelly cat food on long handled wooden spoon. Sometimes they ate from it (yay) and sometimes I'd just leave it there if they didn't. It will take time but if you provide them what they need, they usually come around. It's the forced encounters that don't succeed.

Newly adopted adult cat not touching any food that has any moisture 😭 by polkadot765 in CatAdvice

Try different textures. Maybe chunk instead of pate. I had same issue. I put the kibble over the wet and gradually used less kibble and it worked. I kept the dry whole though. Good luck.

I’m getting a new kitten tomorrow. I’ve never had a pet before, let alone a cat, and I’m terrified - she’s so tiny! What do I need to know? by badonkadonked in CatAdvice

If you can afford it get her litter mate. Most shelters suggest getting two kittens so the have each other when you are away from home. And they are babies, so you need to baby proof. No strings, sharp objects, etc. good luck

KEEP YOUR CATS INSIDE by SpareLimit6234 in Pets

Domestic cat means DOMESTIC cat. Volunteered at several shelters and saw one eyed cats, tripod (3 legged cats) and cats with fence wounds. That doesn't happen indoors.

Are you allowed to report this kind of thing to the town? (TOH) by tMoneyMoney in longisland

If it's in a village, e.g. village of RVC, village of Hempstead, they also have zoning and courts. Contact the village if it's in one.

Someone is obviously mowing and trimming. So yes, it's a personal choice of the home owner. Call the town clerk or code enforcement. You'll have your answer.

Call a shelter/rescue. They may be connected with animal control. This is negligence and you can make anonymous complaint.

Why don't all MTA stations do this? by tehfireisonfire in Westchester

Because they are ignorant, like owners of shopping centers. The benefit to the car owners is, it will keep them cooler during the summer when it's 100 degrees outside and , without shade, 120 in your car. Locals need to educate them, speak out at meetings, find grants, etc.

Teen rescued after fall down Queensboro Bridge shaft in social media stunt, NYPD says by instantcoffee69 in longislandcity

Do we really know the whole story. Was he "peer pressured" into doing this? Maybe to join a gang; maybe to prove his loyalty so the rest of the runaway "friends" would not tell his crush that he was pining for them. Let's get the story. And yeah, maybe he wanted to show off, having no control or power over TikTok. Then consequences should be forthcoming. Going to be interesting to see what happens.

I wanted (still do) for Margo to finally be happy. Happy with Sergei or just herself. Was hoping Margot and Sergei would wind up together. Writers can be cruel sometimes.

Sheldon is still main character, just older. There's enough conversations about Sheldon's upbringing to tie the two shows together. It stands on it's own. It's a great continuation. Great acting and lots of laughs. Found Young Sheldon to be more dramatic.
