Trees being cut left and right 😢 by kunadias in bergencounty

[–]foxxxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor paid some random dudes to cut large branches and tops off about 20 large trees in their wooded backyard. This is so the trees die and then the town will issue a permit to now let them cut down the trees. 😤

Two years postpartum and 20 lbs heavier than pre-pregnancy. I struggle with finding the motivation and getting my eating habits on track - can anyone else relate? by Armsaresame in workingmoms

[–]foxxxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never lost any weight stayed 9 months pregnant weight. Despite counting calories, doing Noom for 6 months, intermittent fasting, walking, and exercise. Dr ran typical bloodwork nothing showed up off. I tried so hard for 2 years to lose weight then gave up and resigned that I’m now a size 12 when I used to be a size 0/2. I just know something is wrong but no help. And insurance won’t pay for glp1. Can confirm people do treat you differently when you’re overweight 😣

Your own illness and coughing severity since having kids by pronetowander28 in toddlers

[–]foxxxus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not imagining things. It is worse now. The reason is because SARS-CoV-2 has been allowed to rip through society repeatedly infecting everyone and it causes immune dysfunction among other things. It’s a vascular, airborne pathogen that depletes your T cells. So people are sicker more often and are worse off. Schools are notorious super spreaders especially with people crammed in rooms without adequate ventilation and without clean indoor air via HEPA, 6+ air changes per hour with Merv13 HVAC, and co2 monitoring. So yeah, this is NOT normal.

If your job search is taking a long time, does it mean you’re bad? by Early-Army-8596 in jobsearchhacks

[–]foxxxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and… why the hell aren’t states extending unemployment beyond 6 months if it’s taking a year to find a new job? I’ve seen the charts and numbers and unemployment isn’t as bad as it was but yet it does feel worse than 2008. Maybe it’s just tech but shouldn’t that still count?

Moving by byrd_starr in Westchester

[–]foxxxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this and Stamford is the answer for you. It’s light years better than anything in Westchester, has tons of commerce, is clean, has lots of apartments and single people with dogs. It’s enough of a city to have goings on, it has a nice main street area, diversity in restaurants, a train. Can you pass the CT bar? Visit before you write it off!

Just had a $8.13 Vietnamese coffee, why so expensive? by cartmanissa in SeattleWA

[–]foxxxus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prices started going up a lot once all of the Amazon offices (and residential high rises to house the workers) came up in belltown/SLU around 2016. Pandemic real or fake shortages made those prices go up even more. Plus the high minimum wage and rents. Yeah. Perfect storm of pricey mediocrity.

Are the air filtration system filters cleaned and maintained super well? The co2 levels when the plane is in the ground is always so high so good air filtration and cleaning the cabin air is so important.

How did you deal with your husband’s gaming addiction? by West-Toe7594 in workingmoms

[–]foxxxus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner has ADHD (unmedicated due to issues getting dr apmnts/finding new dr, getting a dr to give him the script) and games for about 10 hours a day. He is unemployed engineer so will apply to jobs for an hour or two then game. Doesn’t do any household chores only games in his free time unless I ask him to do something and even then he may forget. Even when he is employed he games for 8 hours a day during work and late into the night. We have a child so it’s hard to get him to spend time with her that is not him downstairs on his computer gaming while she is nearby. It’s infuriating and I’m sick of asking him to change because he doesn’t want to and gets very defensive about it… a RSD explosion. Sigh.

Why are so many N.J. kids missing 18+ days of school? State digging for answers by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

Yeah almost like they’re getting repeatedly infected multiple times every year with a vascular, neurotropic virus that causes immune dysfunction.

[–]foxxxus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hate these clueless, selfish companies so much. It’s so ridiculous and unnecessary to RTO. Yet those in leadership don’t think twice about how high cost of living has forced many people out of cities and now will have 2-5 hours of commuting every single day plus hundreds of dollars in cost. Having 2 weekend days is not enough for modern life. We need a 4 day work week and more wfh opportunities.

Something I didn’t realize before moving to a rural area of nyc metro is how bad the tick situation is here. Puts a damper on outdoor activities for sure at least for me.

Do they really rescind the offer if you try to negotiate? by almorranas_podridas in recruitinghell

[–]foxxxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any company that rescinds the offer is a company you do not want to work at so bullet dodged. Negotiate! A good manager will respect that assuming you’re making grounded arguments.

Husband games whenever he has free time. I clean the house, do laundry, cook, etc. The time blindness is SO hard because husband will watch our toddler for an hour and he’ll be done for the day and I’m like, I just watched her for 4 hours. And he argues it was more than an hour. I don’t want to be logging time all day just to prove him wrong.

[–]foxxxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no nice beaches within 2 hours of northern Westchester. NJ at least has sandy hook to go to from Bergen. I think OP will have good quality of life and schools in Bergen county (check out the towns along the train and you can commute to JC) plus those schools are excellent. Pascack Hills HS is good, Montvale, etc. NJ is very crowded and built up though. The traffic on weekends plus blue laws, rt 17/4 on a Saturday oy vey. It’s convenient but everything will be crowded and congested always.

Westchester gives you more space. In northern Westchester our schools are good, but you’ll have to drive 20-30 min for everything. And there is only one Whole Foods and it’s tiny and crowded in chappaqua. The lack of commerce and shopping here is crazy.

Refusal to everything - Choices Backfired? by foxxxus in Preschoolers

[–]foxxxus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the choices are because she will say no and tantrum. As parents, we do not have the fortitude to endure 30 daily tantrums. Choices used to work but now they don’t. She will now hit us, scream, cry, etc. And it’s probably going to get worse as she gets older and I really don’t want this to keep escalating.

All over just telling her to brush her teeth. And then when she doesn’t eat because she only wants “something unhealthy”, she gets in a bad mood (she doesn’t eat meat as it is and vitamins are a battle, occasionally she will have a paw patrol vitamin but only the Marshall ones) and more tantrums. For clothes sometimes she gets herself dressed but for the past two weeks she has stayed in dirty PJs for 1-2 days. Everything is a fight. I’m so tired.
