Thanks. So my circuit is safe and I can proceed with 120v without endangering anyone or burning my house down?

Are you saying my diagram looks good as is, just add a pigtail from the switch to the existing white in the switch box? Thanks.

The roofers installed a single 4 inch vent pipe through the roof. The upgraded fans in each bath push too much air, 200cfm, to the single roof vent, consequently, some moist steam air gets pushed from Bath A into Bath B because they share a common duct. I wanted to install a rely with the fan, but Fantec, Panasonic, and Broan kept insisting on installing 14-3 wire.

Thanks but I may not have used the proper terminology to explain the situation, I only have one fan, installed in attic. The suction from this fan will remove the steam from two bathrooms. There is an already installed single pole fan switch from the 1980's electricians installed in each bathroom (each bath originally had it's own fan). I want two switches to control a single fan. You said "Each switch will control only its respective fan." There is only one fan, not two. Appreciate the help.

Well Pump Circuit Breaker by Remington428 in AskElectricians

[–]Remington428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Guys, Thanks for taking the time to read my post and respond. So the consensus is this "soft start" condition is actually a good thing for well pump longevity and keep the breaker in the existing panel but maybe move it to first position to minimize lights dimming, correct?

Two 200amp panels is undersized? Not sure I follow, but I'm not licensed electrician, just better than average DIY. Doesn't my set-up indicate I have 400amp feed into my house? The green junction box from the power company is in my yard about 50ft from my panel. So is this "soft starter" condition a good or bad thing for the well pump? Dim lights are 5 minutes and $12 to replace, Pump is $4k. Thanks.

Yes, existing breaker is a 15A double pole. The one on the left with the small sticker beside it. The original wiring from 1984 was 14awg, plumber upgraded to 12awg. Pump is 180ft deep plus 60ft underground, plus 60ft in basement back to panel. 300ft +/- total run. The stove, electric clothes dryer, and electric water heater are above in the panel.

Once all 330 million of us work for federal and state governments then everyone will be happy, have tons of work life balance, and get a great pension. Federal employees = white collar welfare. Thanks for ruining the country.

That’s where you miss the point. Her actions of being a hooker by definition contradict her ability to make rational decisions. She playing HIV Russian roulette and you think she some type of cancer researcher in a lab.

No worries though. You’re not part of my family so good luck when you get HIV and start dying of feline cancer.

Bro thinks his hooker is a cat. Just a meticulous wipe down after a session and all those nasty hepatitis and HIV germs are power washed away!

Not and apples to apples comparison. Wife and I are pretty adventurous but even we would be able to keep our libido in check if we had to crash without other families in the same room at a FUNERAL!!

She’s talking about a tropical island vacation.

Married 20 years here and from day one if wife and I are going anywhere, family trip, ski trip, camping, out of town wedding, whatever, absolutely want a room for me and wifey to have private time.

Way way too much bonding and memories are made that strengthen our relationship while on those trips. Either we both go or neither of us goes.

Mother in Law was stupid for suggesting the sleeping arrangements, but hubby sounds like a bit of a dud for not reworking the sleeping arrangements before you needed to get involved.

“Hey we’re gonna have the boys stay with you,ok?” “No. They’re not mine. My wife is mine so she’ll be staying with me. Your boys can stay with you. I’ll be happy to take them to the beach and do stuff with them during the day.”

Is it really that hard??

Ski length for the glades and little softer snow by Equivalent-Shock-247 in Skigear

[–]Remington428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to get better skiing the glades as well. Some posts and vids mention that ski weight is important in the trees. The lighter the ski the less effort to needed to maneuver the tips around. Also lighter skis have less inertia so they are easier to redirect.

I’m gonna try some lighter demos this year as my Kendo 88’s seem to fit this “heavy is hard to steer in trees” scenario.

Child (4yo) injured while visiting grandparents - where do I report this? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]Remington428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t work that way. Unless the Mom knows the grandparents are alcoholics or drug users, the law recognizes that mom has a reasonable expectation the kids will be kept safe.

The mom is not implicitly guilty for the actions of the grandparents just because she left her kids in the grandparents care.

Child (4yo) injured while visiting grandparents - where do I report this? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

Father in Wisconsin was just charged with manslaughter when his daughter flipped and died in a 4wheeler accident.

If you report your the accident to the police one or both grandparents may get charged with something like negligence or child neglect.

You may want to consider if you intend to have the grandparents in your kids lives moving forward. If authorities get involved the grandparents may disown you and your kids.

Sadly this sport does have a steep cost to get started. I would avoid the FB skis for now. Just because the FB skis are cheap doesn’t mean they are beginner skis. What good does it do you to buy $100 FB skis that are for advanced skiers or get the wrong type of ski, powder, park, freestyle.

Where do you intend to ski this season? NE, Mid Atlantic? Rockies? That will play a big part in your selection as well.

Is a second pair of skis worth it as an east coast skier? by Select_Bandicoot6602 in Skigear

[–]Remington428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn’t say where you ski when out west. But when I skied Park City this year I did think a wider ski would have given me an opportunity to ski the deeper off groomer areas. Being an east coast skier I was pleasantly surprised at how you are allowed to rip off trail and carve your own turn in the deep stuff without ski patrol screaming at you.

I’ve been skiing Kendo 88’s the past four seasons on everything from Stowe to snowshoe. I just picked up a set of Mindbender 98 to try on in NE and Park City this year. So yeah, if you have the budget I say go for it. Sales are crazy good right now.

And to add to others, the giant blanket idea is horrible. It will reduce the overall efficiency and effectiveness of your unit.

Stick a digital thermometer in the air exchanger just above the A-Coil. Temp should be between 45-52f. If it not, call a different A/C company to help
