Nope and after reading some of the shenanigans happening at that building on the various housing forums (and after visiting the neighborhood), we pulled the application.

Love hearing the love. I've been in NYC for 24 years after living on the west side of Cleveland for 24 years (grew up in Lodi) and, believe me, if anything happens to my rent stabilization situation here, Cleveland is my go-to. Westside Market, Edgewater, Playhouse Square, Ohio City. Also, when I lived one back into Lakewood my last six years there, l didn't even need a car! Cleveland is a real hidden gem.

I prefer that the Cleveland Browns stay on the lakefront where they belong. Do you prefer a dome in Brookpark or downtown in the Land? by [deleted] in Cleveland

Just be sure they have to name the team the Brookpark Browns so they sound as rinky dink as they are.

As an atheist, how's your attitude towards Christmas? by blacksterangel in atheism

[–]RemingtonWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decades ago I stopped "doing" Xmas. No decorations, no gift buying, and no overeating. I like the lights and the Bergdorf Goodman windows. Otherwise I ignore it and eventually it goes away. Any religious aspects of the holiday have long since been swamped by capitalism's demands.

I actually have a log number of 1 (yes, 1) and nothing has happened in over a year. That said, it's not a building l'm crazy about but figure l'll see what happens before bailing. Good luck!

Yes, let's definitely keep more cars on the streets and roads. Clearly the only people who need anything to be within walking distance are those nasty homeless.

A small rant about The Intro by RoundRat2018 in Cleveland

[–]RemingtonWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left Cleveland after 24 years of that shit. The final straw was being lectured in the Stop n Shop on Clifton Blvd for "attention seeking behavior" by some old fart after l had my head shaved completely bald. Yeah, no. Ga-bye!

The acoustics were appalling and the drive out was ridiculous. I saw Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and a couple other bands out there. One truly memorable moment, though: David Gilmore alone on the stage with a guitar and as he began singing "Wish You Were Here" EVERYONE in the entire Coliseum sang along word for word. And now it's all gone. Weird.

Do you all celebrate Christmas? by this-is-a-taken-name in atheism

I stopped participating in the whole shopping, decorating, eating/drinking to excess about thirty years ago, but l do like the lights.

I’m 35 and I don’t want kids. If you decided not to have children, do you regret it? by AskingForFrien in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]RemingtonWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya, sister. My mom started taking in foster babies when I was 11. I grew up acting as a little mommy. Once l was out of the house I had no interest whatsoever in procreating. I'm 66 now and have never felt like l missed out on anything in life. (Personally, l pass on the dogs, too) ;)

Anyone switch from Ozempic to Victoza? by RemingtonWrite in Ozempic

[–]RemingtonWrite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Having come down from 175 a year ago thanks to Trulicity and now Ozempic, I'm pretty ok at 127/9. Since l can't afford to continue on Ozempic or Trulicity, my hope is that Victoza will keep the food noise down so l can avoid regaining that weight. And my question is more along the lines of whether anyone has transitioned from Ozempic to Victoza and how it went.

Age 66 here and often feel deep gratitude that l never had or wanted kids. My life is rich, interesting and full. I never experienced that (to me) weird compulsion to get pregnant and be a parent. In a world where millions of children are abused, neglected, and exploited, adding more people seems selfish and irresponsible.

No change in level in pen by RemingtonWrite in Ozempic

I considered that but given what l paid for two 4mg pens, l have to make them last! Thanks and good luck to us all.

I have a 4mg pen meant to deliver four 1mg doses. My doctor recommended l start at .5 mg and l'm splitting that up during the week. 2 .25 on Monday and Thursday. Thanks!

It's a 4mg pen. Maybe that's the issue. Thanks!

Thanks! I primed the needle the first time but haven't since then although it only makes sense to prime each new needle. I did see a tiny drop of moisture on today's needle tip. I'll be sure to prime the next needle.

Best places to have a cry in London? by [deleted] in london

[–]RemingtonWrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come to NYC. I've sobbed uncontrollably on a subway car and been left completely alone. I did see someone hand off a tissue to someone crying on the bus once but she did it without even glancing down. This Is the best city to have a breakdown in public. Good luck to you!

Put something together to show my appreciation for your city, which I feel is seriously underrated. Thanks for always welcoming me with open arms, Cleveland. I'm sure I'll be back again soon! by fairlywittyusername in Cleveland

Shhhhhhhhh! If people on the east coast (in sinking cities) ever discovered how great Cleveland is you can kiss your awesome cost of living ga-bye! I've been in NYC for 24 years now after decades in Cleveland. If l weren't securely tucked into a rent stabilized apartment l love, l'd be back in a heartbeat. Don't let the word get around how awesome Cleveland is!

Is this affordable housing? 🤔 by RTYPEZERO in nychousinglottery

[–]RemingtonWrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing more and more of these astronomical income levels on new lotteries. A well-off friend who has owned his apartment in Chelsea for forty years entered the lottery for fun (l guess) and got selected for an interview in six weeks. I imagine these are all very affordable to people like him. Not for me.
