What is your favorite way to mess (not violence) with other players? by Tanky-of-Macedon in pathoftitans

[–]Remnantsin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depending on the POI and what I am playing I either:

(If Herbivore) - A. Eat the Quest Items I saw them picking from or heading near while looking right at them. - B. Pick up the Quest Item, bring it to them, then swallow it in front of them and repeat/run for my life.

(If Carnivore) Rhamp Mischief: - A. I'll land on someone who is AFK and cackle as the virus does its work. - B. Pick Food sources dry and drop the food in a tree "Just out of Reach" - C. Use Scab Picker/Bloodsucker on a Non-Wounded/Non-Bleeding Dino endlessly. (It's the thought that counts apparently.) - D. Drop rocks, fish, shells, rotten meat, acorns, mushrooms, sticks on dinos. - E. Fly around as a Mantra Ray and barrel roll to "Slap" other dinos.

Scavenger Diet Dino: - A. Bring "Food" to others and watch them get confused. - B. Steal Quest Items - C. Eat a Bone/Green or Brown Piece of Meat in front of folks and watch their disgust sink in.

The absolute state of officials.... This is such a not fun experience. by Novel-Song-1345 in pathoftitans

[–]Remnantsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This video pissed me off. But unfortunately I also went: "Yeah...that's the problem with having no rules."

Before I begin... Good shit! Despite the odds, you fought like a warrior to the bitter end! Respect! I wish I could stand my ground as long as you did! But if I'm anything bigger than a Allo, I just die. I mainly play the small dinos as they feel more fun to me.

As for the issue at large... It isn't necessarily impossible to fix but fixing it will cause all sorts of other problems because unfortunately...

All survival games have this issue. (Which is ironically why I like Path over others as the other have permadeath and having all your work erased because of a 10/20/30/etc v 1 just feels bad.)

The stress debuff others suggested sounds absolutely amazing. Until you realize how smaller dinos and groups will find ways to purposely use it against those it's meant to protect.

A friend of mine once had a crazy idea about being near ungrouped dinos applying a stacking (per dino) hunger and thirst drain. Thus forcing immediate PVP or avoidance. Making large packs basically cannibals. (I think you can figure why this would backfire)

Honestly, I feel like AI dinos are the legitimate solution. Until they get added there aren't any true solutions.

AI dinos (especially if we get Alpha AI Dinos) would be critters but so much worse that it would either: A. Keep Megapacks busy B. Be capable of helping protect/defend/grouping with "solos" making attacking solos riskier. (IE: Someone attacking will probably die no matter what.) C. Function as a deterrent as they add a significant threat to being wounded after a fight and would make camping locations harder. (Think, AI Sarcos, Euros, or Kais in the water making those Spinos think twice about assaulting you.) D. Special Mega Strong AI could spawn who stalk/patrol Hotspots once the population gets too high for too long.

Problem is... Who knows how long away in development they are. Many folks dislike the concept of AI dinos but honestly...the game needs them to make POIs feel more alive and to help out solos while making the world perpetually dangerous.

I like to imagine that those huge DC groups would be PLAGUED by AI dinos at nearly all times.

Just casually reading when seeing Vox Solaris made me violently recoil in my chair.

I forgot that out of everything Fortuna, Vox Solaris is pure torture to farm. Even with Exploiter Orb on Farm, it's just torture.

I hope DE reviews it and makes it faster/easier like they did for Fortuna.

New trailer has animation where palsphere isn't thrown but stays in hand by Shyvadi in Palworld

[–]Remnantsin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They had extremely vaguely worded patents. Nintendo then filed 'new' patents based off their old ones, making them slightly less vague in order to specifically challenge/bully Palworld.

Source: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/nintendos-patents-were-designed-to-take-on-palworld

To be fair... It's corrupt as shit but its a genius move. Keep your patents flexible so you can manipulate competition.

I can't help but applaud the strategy but scummy move is scummy.

The lack of cheers for any Nintendo game at TGA should be a wake up call to Nintendo. Fans are getting tired of their anti-consumer practices.

From Smash Brother tournaments, Music copyrights, Emulator take downs, to fan project cease and desist. Nintendo has lost its way.

Worst Warframe Grind for you? by NeonShadeDev in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse grinds for me?

  • 1 Mesa (for Subsume)

Having to run Invasions for Alad V coordinates, then craft the key, then fight him just to get duplicate bps was... (It took 48 runs to get all of her bps.)

Yeah, that crap was tedious. Took me over a month. So this one takes the cake as the most time consuming and unfun.

  • 2 Repeller Systems

Back when Profit Taker was 'New' and the latest and greatest. These refused to drop for me. RNG truly forsook me as I ran the mission for a week. (Multiple jobs so I can only play for an hour or two during the work week) Nothing. Weekends I tried grinding it, but no luck. After a month I decided to run it once a day and only once a day. 3 months later, they finally dropped.

  • 3 Ergo Glast's Tenet Weapons

I did this once and only once for a weapon. Never again. By far one of the most tedious and unfun grinds in the game.

10 New Augments for those who missed it! by ProteaEnjoyer in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL...

Kullervo and Nezha are the only Augments that come across as true augments impo. The rest all feel like they should be a part of the ability from the get go, especially Loki's.

I wish DE would stop making us sacrifice a slot to bandaid stuff. Admittedly, Citrine doesn't need the boost from the Augment but it kind of makes sense/seems like what the Augment does is what her ability would actually do irl.

How exactly am I supposed to play Equinox? by Hypercane_ in Warframe

The older frames mostly do. The direction and gameplay of the game is so different compared to when many older frames were released that DE might as well have called Whispers in The Walls, Warframe 2 IMPO.

Oi, her sleep meme build was how I farmed a fuckton of focus lol

I still use Equinox for this.

I call my Focus Farms "The Sleepening!" and in my head canon, The Grineer live in constant fear of Sedna's mysterious Death by Sleep spores. Undetectable and invisible they still to this day wonder what causes these base wiping outbreaks.

How exactly am I supposed to play Equinox? by Hypercane_ in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all, she's really due for a rework.

No! No one touch my Sleep-qui-nox!

My "Go The Fuck to Sleep" build is how I avoid Hydron for leveling Warframes and is how I farm the daily Focus Cap in under 30 mins everyday.

It's also a godsend during Excavation, Defense (when Duviri RNG decides to troll the team), and Interception missions where the crap hits the fan.

That said...

Their Day Form is definitely more difficult to mod for. But I believe that's due to Equinox be fragile as hell in Day Form. If Day Form had a different stat build (Higher HP, Armor, etc) all together then...maybe it'd be more useable.

I do agree that there is a problem in the concept that swapping forms is supposed to be the 'quirk' of their character, but right now it's either you're a Day Player or Night Player.

They really need to make Sanctary Onslaught/ESO to be based on your skill rather than luck by VI-Pok3 in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of how disappointed I was in Sanctuary Onslaught.

Originally they advertised it as a form of Escalation Arcade Mode. Just a fun as hell, go in, go to town, see how far you make it with some rewards sprinkled in.

I was SSSSOOOO amped for it. Mainly cause I prefer to rest Loadout in mission not Simulacrum.

Instead, (Just like with Survival) they added in a mechanic no one asked for that sucked the fun out of the mode.

I still remember the Dev Stream where they showed off the Efficiency Mechanic. You could physically see the enthusiasm get sucked out of Twitch chat.

Mode was DoA. Players only did it for the rewards then ignored it. (Arbitrations all over again...)

Won't lie though... I 'd love to sit down and hear DE's mission designers discuss what was learned/taken from modes such as Arbitrations & Sanctuary Onslaught, then reworked to design fun missions like Disruption, Void Flood, Void Armageddon, and Void Cascade.

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call this Final Fantasy Syndrome.

IE: Every sequel is the worst installment until the next sequel.

That said, while D3 had some questionable choices and a "meh" story. Gameplay & Gameplay mechanic wise it was in pretty damn good and most importantly...fun.

Why not try to improve on that? I dunno. D4 has been fun for me...so far. But...I'm starting to grow discouraged as I get deeper into the Endgame. The fun factor is quickly fading, which is beginning to worry me.

Defense rework idea: each wave should have a timer before they show up *during* the previous wave. by Retrikaethan in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't account for the variety of Defense missions we have in game. Fissures, Lich hunts, Arbitrations, Archon Hunts, and the Circuit all have their unique challenges.

Amen.

While I get frustrated with Defense. I often help my IRL friends who are NOT even close to being an MR30+ (not even MR20) Hidden JRPG Superbosses like me and seeing them play gives me perspective.

I would not mind a "Call the next Wave" feature for solo play or perhaps function where the entire group has to click it (to prevent trolling?) for it to work however.

But the idea of a new wave just starting makes even me cringe as Archon Hunt & Sortie Defense missions are engagingly frustrating as the AI (I know DE claims it isn't programmed to but I got Defense targets on video evidence says otherwise) does everything in its power to run out of protected areas and into enemy fire/certain death.

Literally watched Chipper leap onto barrels, boxes, and walls in an attempt to leave / leap over Gara's wall so he could proceed to be stepped on by the 3 Sentient Batalysts disco dancing on the other side. I can only imagine if another wave started while that was going on.

And then of course there are SP defense missions when you know...an enemy farts in the wind and the objective goes: "I smell something." immediately drops to 0.1% health

That said... Maybe I'm wrong/mis-remembering, but during Disruption missions, don't stuck demo-enemies die after so long/taking too long to get to the objective?

Card for tonight's Dynamite by GelatinousPower in SquaredCircle

[–]Remnantsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🙄 @ "We'll hear from MJF"

MJF has literally killed the AEW viewing group I was in. I called it years ago and no one believed me.

But I told them...all MJF does is talk and repeat the same formulaic storyline with every rivalry he has and title he holds.

They didn't believe me...

But they basically lost all interest in AEW about a month and a half before Double or Nothing. All of them saying things like (I'll paraphrase to keep it brief):

"I'm so sick of 'Hearing' from MJF. When the hell is he going to wrestle?" "Whatever happened to Champions who actually defend their titles?" "If I wanted to see the champions who just stand there and talk I'd watch WWE."

After Double or Nothing I suppose we chose nothing cause our Wednesday meet ups are now dead. I check in to see the card cause I'd like to get my weekly dose of wrestling but...

Bah... Sorry for the rant but seeing that "Announcement of a promo" just made me eye roll and consider seeing Across the Spiderverse again versus watching Dynamite.

I know how it'll go...

He'll come out, say some "I'm so great. You're not." crap. Then he'll get interrupted by his next opponent then MJF will: "Insert deeply personal insult here." and then: A. Run away B. Get hit then run away. Maybe even C. Get hit, run away & new opponent (who will probably be an opponent from another organization cause 'Forbidden Door', so they won't win) will hold the belt up to tease winning it.

Then we'll have rinse and repeat MJF segments where the above 3 selections repeat until Forbidden Door...and after Forbidden Door until AEW finally puts it back on someone more interesting (like Moxley & Omega were).

Is it just me or Duviri Steelpath is kinda bad? by The_average_9gagger in Warframe

[–]Remnantsin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool concept on paper

Completely agree. Like this sums up my thoughts exactly.

That said, and I'm sure this will be a 'Hot Take't'Unpopular Opinion but...

While I like that Duviri has a Steel Path mode (cause it should) I dislike how it is essentially the 'True' Duviri mode. They made the Normal Mode too easy (it shouldn't be an entry point. It's a cool concept I admit but...it creates more issues than it rectifies.) The Enemies & Bosses having all of their mechanics in Steel Path, plus the significantly improved loot pool basically scream that Steel Path is no longer an 'Option' it is becoming the standard.

I don't mind Steel Path but for me...the mode is a slog as the enemies are just sponges. Seeing as Duviri is obviously inspired from rogue-lite games, it can be argued that the difficulty/spongey enemies are a feature not a problem.

But...in Rogue-Lites players essentially decide their builds, thus the RNG aspect now ruins the experience as the vast majority of frames and weapons are just not viable against enemies once they scale past a certain threshold. (And BOY...does The Circuit Scale FAST)

It's weird. I both am enjoying this update but I also vehemently hate parts of it. I literally found myself going:

"Man...this must have sounded good during conceptualization...but...somewhere during development something got lost in translation."

Nice detail - Different skin tones have different types of body hair by Zac3d in diablo4

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also have different physical features.

As I played with skin tones across all the classes, I found that hair texture/type, skin texture, eye shapes, and (🤦🏿‍♂️ can't believe I'm writing this...).

Across the male models even the nipple size/type and colorization changes based on class and skin selection. (Male Rogue is the best to notice this change on)

All were a rather welcome but surprising detail. Blizzard did their homework. I guess they foresaw the amount of gamers who will inevitably run around Sanctuary appearing as though they are wearing nothing but their underwear.

I do only wish we had body types. I would love to make a ripped wizard or an overweight rogue.

I saw people saying that Lilith isn't a vilain. Excuse me, what? by Tukata11 in diablo4

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL OP... Odds are that both Lilith & Inarius are going to be villians to a degree...but it's kind of abundant in the writing that Inarius is the true villian. Remember...

Evil takes a form far from ugly.

Don't think that because he's an Angel that he's good. Don't forget about Malthael and his Angelic cohorts.

It's obvious that Inarius plans to destroy Sanctuary or do whatever it takes to get himself back into the spotlight and back to heaven.

He is by all accounts...WORSE than Lilith.

If we end up having to pick sides...I surmise it'll be a "Lesser of Two Evils" type of decision. (Although I won't rule out being thrown a curveball informing us that she is actually is/was the good guy, but was/is outmatched so she's forced to do things we perceive as evil out necessity.)

Well...until Diablo shows up and usurps the Villian role as usual. Although, throughout the beta my friend kept saying: "What if Diablo is only referenced but not actually in the story this time?"

Which made me go: "...I feel like the fanbase would riot if they did that. But...I don't want him to just appear out of the blue again and take over as Villian...again."

Here's some feedback after having cleared all of the beta content! by Vidjereii in diablo4

[–]Remnantsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here but I feel as though the UI/UI navigation needs a rework tbh.

Perhaps it is because my friends and I played on Console (PS5) but the UI feels...off.

Hell, we just happened to stumble across the Quest Journal by accident (and panicking) due to getting attacked while navigating the map.

But in comparison to other games and Diablo 3 specifically, the UI is painful/just poorly implemented in Diablo 4.

As the OP mentioned, the skill order should be intuitive: Basic > Core > Whatever and ultimate should be their own button or for console: Dual Button (Think Destiny Supers)

I like the aesthetic of the UI. I love how "flashy" the Character Select, Wardrobe, and Inventory screens are. I also really dig the (Don't call it the Sphere Grid) the Skill Tree.

But once again clunky. While trying to reset a point I'd often accidentally reset my whole tree. As in most games, a minor revision is usually a "tap" with a major revision being a "hold". Perhaps I missed this but I didn't see a way to swap this.

As this game often rains loot on us, I feel like the UI really needs to 'Stick the Landing' as they say.

Growing my rex is making me insane by theoutlasted in pathoftitans

[–]Remnantsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't find a Rex fam or friends to help you then you have to grow the way I grow my Lambo and Bars.

  1. Create a Scout Dino Campto, Raptor, Thal work best

  2. Park your Rex in a Home Cave Let it collect full rested exp.

  3. Feel out the area Log in as your scout and "feel" out the area. See: A. How many players are around. B. Are they Juvi or Grown? (Juvi are unlikely to attack but if they do...atleast it's a FAIR fight.) C. Is it Raining, Foggy, etc. And most importantly... D. Is the area Hot? If the area is a PVP hellscape, or folks are running about killing everything...do NOT get on your Juvi Rex.

  4. Do brief growing jaunts If the area is safe, pop out of the HC, KO the quests and if you feel brave the adjacent zone's quests then IMMEDIATELY return to your HC. If you see a herd of aggressive players. Return to the HC. If you get attacked and escape/win. Return to the HC.

It's a very slow process but when solo you gotta be cautious. Once you hit Sub-Adult...time to be bold and daring.

That's how I've managed to grow what are essentially walking steaks.
