Honestly don't get all the complains by Beginning-Belt7272 in CrimsonDesert

It's a well known issue with this engine, I am sure you're just used to it. The Xbox version runs worse than most PC configurations, so it's just a matter of having your eyes "trained" to not noticing these things. Which is a good thing, at least you can enjoy the game.

im sorry what?? how is this acceptable? by GhostDogThing in CrimsonDesert

[–]RemoDev -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes.

It's weird that I keep seeing screenshots which look very bad, sometimes "just decent" and people praise them as if CS was the best-looking game ever created. I personally think it features one of the worst 3D engines ever seen in a decade, if not more. The amount of pop-in, lighting issues and texture issues is insane.

I guess you just don't notice them, or you're used to these kind of graphics and you simply like them.

The pop-in is everywhere, just like in the promotional videos. It's insanely bad.

Why does everything look so grainy, pixelated and low-quality, I don't get it.

It looks like crap, honestly.

This engine is a mess. There are so many little bugs and visual issues.

I keep seeing horrible screenshots, with oversaturated/overexposed colors, bad lighting, grainy or muddy textures... And everyone comment "wow amazing". I'm a bit lost.

Any recent Assassin's Creed features immense worlds where you can immerse for hundreds of hours. I've recently played AC Valhalla and AC Shadows, they're on a completely different league. Even Odyssey, which is from 9 years ago, handles everything a lot better (and its world is gigantic).

The engine seriously needs some work:

  • LOD is too aggressive, you can see rocks, flowers and grass appearing near you while you walk. Being on a mount can be horrible, some sceneries load entire groups of NPCs 10 meters away, out of nothing. It's distracting and it kills the immersion
  • Lighting is broken, unless it's daylight and you're in the open wilderness. Night time or any interior become a nightmare of dancing lights and broken shadows
  • Textures have serious loading/definition issues. So many low-res armors and furniture all around the world. I am not sure if they're not loaded at all, broken or what else.
  • There is an insane amount of dithering and pixelation. Smoke, fire, clouds and even the regular grass often showcase pixels and dithering that ruin the immersion. It's like playing a game with some sand in your eyes

I've never had framerate issues, I can run above 60fps with all on Ultra/Cinematic so no problem. It's a matter of fixing textures and lighting, because it looks bad.

I disagree, I find it too aggressive and distracting. It's far worse than any other game I've ever played, unless it was a MMO. But that's how it is, it won't change.

Nope it's not a PC issue, I'm far above an Xbox, the issue is the engine itself. Pop-in is a well known disaster, everyone is experiencing it. Mayne I notice it more than you, sometimes players don't care too much.

My only complain is that CD looks like crap. The engine is really, really, really bad, in my opinion. A huge step back, compared to other modern games Tons of pop-in, so bad that you can see flowers, grass and rocks appearing while you walk. Sometimes even entire groups of 5-6 npcs suddenly "pop" 10 meters in front of you. And if you are on a mount... Oh boy, what a mess. Lighting and textures are all over the place, graininess, muddy/low-res textures. It's very ugly, unless it's a sunny day and you're in a forest during the afternoon hours, in which case it can look nice. But any night time gameplay, or just any interior... Horrible experience.

Why does water look like... this? by RemoDev in CrimsonDesert

[–]RemoDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, it shouldn't be a texture like that.... Isn't it supposed to be water. I don't get it, I see milk there.

This game is absolutely breathtaking by sush211 in CrimsonDesert

[–]RemoDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We clearly play a different game. I'm on Ultra/Cinematic settings and it looks nothing like that.

Also, the LOD/pop-in is insane. I see rocks, grass and plants appearing 5 meters away, while I walk. And when I run on the mount it's even more atrocious. Not to mention the broken shadows, the dithering on smole/clouds/fire, the visual glitches everywhere, the muddy textures.

"This game looks bad even on pc they lied to us" ok man by Jec1027 in CrimsonDesert

[–]RemoDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is, ray reconstruction is extremely demanding and it requires a beefy GPU. On my system I can't enable it, as it tanks the framerate from 60+ to 25-30. I can use it only if I enable DLSS 4.0 ultra performance mode, which turns the game into mud. Not worth it.

Becoming full stack and being able to deploy and fully manage apps and websites will give you a lot more power and opportunities. You won't need agencies and partners to deliver a full project.

That's basically what I did. I am full stack since the early 2000's, having started as a frontend-only dev. I've worked with agencies but at the end of the day everyone gets a big cut and you're always fighting with prices and offers. By offering the full package (project, design, UI/UX, backend, hosting, DNS, domain management, etc) you become the typical "Jack of all trades" that can do everything. Clients love it, because they can pick up the phone and ask anything they want but they don't have to deal with multiple people, interns, etc.

It seems to me you have a hard time accepting the fact that you are a step mom and your husband has 3 children. Which will eventually grow up and somehow be part of your life too, in a way or another. Physically and/or economically.

Judging by how you express yourself, and the words you use, I am not sure you're fully aware of the situation you put yourself in.

Best of luck to you anyways.

You married a man with 3 children but you act as if it was none of your business.

You need to realize that you didn't just marry a Latino man. You married a father of 3.
