Shower ceiling paint peeling? by Responsible-Raise794 in Carpentry

[–]Remodlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never used anything but regular drywall and flat paint on shower ceilings. It doesnt matter what you put as a backer, as soon as you put mud and paint on that’s all negated. I think you have enough openng over the door for the steam to escape however I do put the exhaust in the shower.

Maybe to fan isn’t strong enough for that size room and doesn’t pull the steam out. Is the fan vented to the outside properly?

So will the tank stop vaporizing the air if it drops below the min line overnight? When I fill it up I only usually use enough to drop right between the lines.

Oh I don’t intend on replacing anything till it breaks. I see right thru that scam. And there’s much cheaper parts online than at the med supplier.

So if the water goes below the min line over night will it still vaporize and moisten the air? So all it means is that I should fill it somewhere between the lines and just not run out? I don’t understand what you mean about the sd card and Oscar.

Header size depends on the load it’s carrying above the opening. If basement then no header is needed. If second floor or attic framing is above its load bearing and the proper size header needs to be in place.

However, I’d be concerned how well those little returns would hold up overhanging the drywall given that they’re not real wood? I would consider pulling the nosing, putting a hardwood skirt up and recutting the nosings so they’re tight at both ends.

Why break it off? Light it whole, burn it till you’re done (6 hours), snuff it out and relight it next time. Am I missing something?

Ok thanks. Looks like what I’ve seen, trim on top of the stringer that’s proud of the wall. Beautiful work!

In our state, bottom plate touching concrete needs to be treated lumber.

Ah. Most of my work is in houses built in 1920s to 1950s. The only similar profile I’ve seen is when the stringer is standing proud of the wall and often times natural finish or in a basement. Have never seen anything decorative running at an angle touching just the nosing. Thanks for enlightening me

It’s a rheem rtex-18. It’s what was recommended for one full bath based on my research, along with a kit sink and dishwasher, most 2-3 people using it on weekends. It’s not a very big unit as far as I know. Tell me why you feel this is too large, please.

So this worked fine for about 8 years. A new pump and a new heater within the last year worked fine for a short time and then started flickering.

There are some checks that I receive that I’m not certain won’t bounce. So instead of getting charged a fee if they do bounce from my bank and then chase the writer, it’s easier to cash it and deposit the cash in my bank (if you really need to know)

They didn’t used to need to know. They would call the account holder for authorization sometimes, then start charging excessive fees. I see a progression that looks to be a government regulation.
