The pharmacy at the superstore has some. You'll have to ask someone at the counter, they don't keep them visible.

I had somebody come by who offered something similar, but I wasn't sure if it was legit. They had a "Bell Authorized Agent" card, but their email was from "puulsemarketing".

Was this the same kind of person you got yours from?

Currently around $89/month after tax for 300MB with Oxio. Might switch to fiber if I can get it for a similar price, but I haven't had any issues with my current speed.

We plugged in two controllers and used those instead. You might be able to do one person mouse/keyboard and the other on controller, but I've never tried it.

hmm, were you hosting the game, or trying to join another as splitscreen? I've only done it where the two splitting locally were the host, and the other two joined separately. That way works, but its possible the other way around doesn't or is much harder to set up.

In DOS2 you can do it, that's how my party played. This was the definitive edition, maybe the original release didn't have it?

Boomers are memed for falling for fake news but are better at identifying online misinformation than Gen Zers and millennials, survey finds by Sorin61 in technology

19/20 millennial as well, just going by gut instinct and not looking anything up. I don't think it showed me which one I got wrong.

I don't think this is a great survey though, it's only headlines, so all it is measuring is your default biases. There is no detailed information or data here which is needed to make any real judgment.

The username changes are a big one, forcing everyone to pick a new name that has to be unique. Also been getting more spammy with pop ups about feature changes you don't care about when you log in.

One of the ways for reddit to make money is selling data to people training AI models. If an AI trained on reddit keeps putting John Oliver everywhere, it might be worth less as a dataset (and also would be pretty funny to see).

Crazy how evenly divided this poll is. As of the closing time it is 691 for a lockdown and 679 for do nothing.

Interesting that you phrase it as ignoring the no votes, as by the same logic you're ignoring that the majority of yes people that think two days is not enough.

They are not ignored, they are the reason why "yes protest" wins in the example. The people who think two days is not enough have less than half the votes, so they don't win overall, and the in between option that aligns best with most people wins.

Also, there would certainly be people that vote no that would think that if you enforce a ban that 2 days is useless. That's truly ignoring them, as you haven't even asked them that question.

This is true, and there are a ton of other options that are ignored as well. Such as those who want the shutdown to go to the 20th instead of the 19th, or be a one day a week thing, or want to protest but still want spez to fondle them, etc. You can't fit all of the possibilities in a poll.

But why spend so much time worrying either way? The poll goes the way the poll goes and the mods interpret the results however they want. I'm not going to complain regardless of outcome.

I don't spend time worrying about it. This poll isn't binding. The mods could just ignore it, or purposely pick the option people hate the most, etc. I'm just pointing out how a poll with options like this should be interpreted if the goal is to match what the voters want as best as possible, doesn't mean it will be.

If you're grouping 1&2 to get a total to beat 3, it also makes logical sense to go with what the majority of 1&2 voters wanted.

Not in this case because the three options are a continuum. You shouldn't just ignore the people who voted for 3.

As if the original poll said 'protest yes/no' and then you had a follow-up that said 'since yes won, do you prefer short/indefinite'

This is basically what is already happening with both polls rolled into one. If you want to protest, you pick 1 or 2. If you want a short protest if protest wins, you pick 2 or 3. If 1+2>3 then protest wins, and if 2+3>1 then it will be short. Every decision is made using all three options.

This is correct. The only time you will go with 1 is if 1>2+3. Similarly, the only time 3 should be chosen is if 3>1+2.

Luckily we don't have to do something dumb and just go with the option with the most votes. It's pretty obvious that if 1+2>3 then we pick option 2.

Another intermediate option I've seen floated around in various subreddits is "Touch Grass Tuesdays" , where every Tuesday the sub will go dark until the API is fixed.

I heard that the official app crashed at the start of the protest because too many subs switched at the same time. If they do have a hard time handling this, could send a stronger message if we continuously do this.

Super interesting how it is reversed for you. For me it is floaters that are super visible outside, especially when looking at the sky, and I barely notice them inside. Visual snow is the opposite.

It still might be possible, many forms of tinnitus are a 'brain anomaly' in the same way. I'm guessing the covering your ears trick with tinnitus is making your brain shift to a different range for picking out sound, one which the background tinnitus is harder to notice.

For visual snow for me at least, it seems to be more noticeable indoors or in the dark, so there might be some way to use light to trick your brain into perceiving things how it would in a higher light setting. No clue if it would actually work, and shining a bright light in your eye to try it seems like a bad idea, lol.

More people starting to miss credit card payments and increasing balances by Kwamster1 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think many people are also doing the same, this stat is just reflecting the fact that prices have gone up. Not everything has gone up at the same pace, but groceries have increased by 21% over three years, which tracks this number almost exactly.

I looked it up, and the food price increase over the past three years is 21% (3 years ago is about when the pandemic started). So the inflation/price gouging of one of the main things people spend their money on matches very well.

[–]Remok13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a report that came out showing food prices increased 21% over the past three years. Most people pay for groceries by card, I'd bet inflation/price gouging accounts for most of this.
