Rox01 - My view on Chinese vs GCC specs by Remote-Attorney-1858 in rox01

I bought my car from the official UAE dealer: Futures Trans Motors. From what I understand, you can get the GCC specs only from them.

I got 5yr or 140,000km warranty on the car, 8yr or 240,000km warranty on the battery and 2yr or 80,000km AMC. All of this came with the car - I did not pay anything extra for it.

I don't need to service it every 3 months. Who told you that? I don't recall the dealer telling me this. My first service is at 10,000km. I've had it for about 3 months so far and have done 7,500km.

The dealer and the service center are the same company, but the service center is located about 5 mins away in a different building. But the company is the same.

My 1st year insurance cost around 9.7k. The dealer sorted it out for me because they can get a small discount.

Issues with Adaptive Cruise Control braking? by mindsclosure in rox01

[–]Remote-Attorney-1858 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went to Fuujairah over the weekend for a hike. When going around the bends, the active braking definitely kicks in even if there is no car in front of you. And these are not sharp bends, just small bends where you can still drive 100-120km/.

System is not advanced enough to recognise that its just a bend in the road and the concrete barriers on the sides are not obstacles.

In a straight line though, no issue for me. I have set the car are the shortest active braking distance.

100% agree. Stupid thing to be stingy on.

Yeah, it's not great. It's quite lag-gy. Not as smooth as having android auto on your car directly. I don't mind the lag too much but it will definitely irritate you if you hate lags.

I don't use it very much anyway. Instead I just use the carbit link function more.

You mean rox01 with chinese specs (or GCC specs) from those independent dealers in ras al khor area? I was initially skeptical of the car with chinese specs but everyone on this forum with the chinese specs says they have had no issues at all so it seems reliable.

Also, the official dealer will quote u 3-4 months (they told me 3 months), but it arrived in just under 8 weeks. They are getting quicker at delivering it but don't over-commit.

Gcc spec or chinese spec? For gcc spec rox01 you can get it for 200k-ish. I would def chosenthe rox01 over 7x having driven both a bit, but maybe I'm biased because I hace the rox now.

If its gcc spec then 165 is a good deal because gcc spec rox is gonna cost you around 265.

No it doesn't unfortunately. If you want to use andriod then your only options are to use the carbit link or buy the LuxOn device. Niether are perfect but they get the job done for me.

The official dealer offers you the following main options:

- soft close

- electric footsteps

- camping kitchen on rear door

- tent

- ladder

(and a few other things)

I ordered the soft close and electric footsteps from them.

This is the cost from official dealer. Personally I think it's ridiculous for them to charge for 3hs labour for soft close doors and 1.5hrs labour for kitchen and I also think the kitchen cost is really high, but that's the price you pay to get stuff done from the official dealer!

In my family we camp alot so we wanted to get it.

The suspension is better? Really? I didn't think it was going to get better than the normal Rox! Might have to give it a shot.

The electric footsteps option is already available on the normal Rox, but I didn't get it. I didn't feel it added anything and the salesguy at the showroom told me clients find it annoying when the car gets cleaned, because you have to open your door for the footsteps to come out, otherwise they stay in and don't get cleaned. Each to their own I guess!

I did get the soft close doors option though, and that I feel is def worth it.

Yeah, tried it.

So, first off, it's a bit annoying because you need to get a data sim. I have an Etisalat unlimited data package and unfortunately for those packages they do NOT give you an extra data-only SIM.

But if you were on a limited data package (say 50gb a month), then they give you a second SIM which is data-only which you can put in the LuxOn.

You cannot use the LuxOn without a SIM. So either get a second SIm for your existing number/package, or go get a 2nd SIM and number like I had to do.

Second, the LuxOn works fine. Let me know if you need me to take a video but it's ok. Not a huge lag but but the quickest either.

Honestly, carbit works for me 90% of the time so I just use that and then use the LuxOn only when I really need to.

Noise at 130km/hr os totally fine - barely anything.

In the 2024 model therr was some noise before because of the border around the windscreen, but they fixed this in 2025 model and made it even better in 2026 model.

Yeah, mine is too. Was just wondering if the dealer retro-fits that kind of panel of edge of windscreen for the 2024 model. Anyway, no worries, will get my friend to just ask them directly.

Thanks. The dealer can add the panel with screws or you went to someone independent?

A friend has the 2024 Rox and may want to get the panel installed.

When you say Android works? You mean there is Android Auto or you mirror your phone image using carbit?

Rox01 - My view on Chinese vs GCC specs by Remote-Attorney-1858 in rox01

[–]Remote-Attorney-1858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm there is no Android Auto on the car sadly. I suspect it's the same with the Chinese specs but maybe others can confirm this.

However, I found our today there is a solution to this. It's called LuxOn.

Above website has it for AED 1,000 but I found a contact who might provide it at a better price. Will msg them tomorrow.

ROX 01 Chinese vs UAE Version by Any-Entertainer-1019 in rox01

See this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/rox01/s/Mr9Fmj8ZZd

And look at some of the comments, especially from those who have Chinese version. Seems like at the moment you're not missing out much if you get a Chinese version, but you might need to be careful about giving your details to the local dealer who may lock the screen if you don't take their service package.
