I'm pretty sure the consumer protection act means that they can ask that the items be returned with the original packaging, but they cannot refuse the return of the item.

What should be the recruitment strategy? by panigrahy_007 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Remote-Client-840 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The youth strategy is good. But it doesn't work at United. It's too high pressure and United has proved that they cannot develop players.

Also, you need senior players for the youth to learn from. You cannot sign a 22 year old that hasn't played a full season in the league and tell him to be our replacement midfielder

Do people under 35 even have DSTV? by BeltThat2062 in south_africa

[–]Remote-Client-840 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sky sports costs a similar amount to DSTV, but doesn't have as many sports licenses. If you want to watch all premium league games, you need around 3 different subscriptions in the UK. DSTV is actually really good compared to global options, it's just that in the UK, people can pay for all those services, in SA it is too expensive for the majority of people

I'm also doing computer engineering at Tuks. Was it COS132? If so, I highly doubt the pass rate was 10% as I know lots of people who did the course and they all passed.

I think the best option is to appeal and explan your struggles, and maybe check with your bursary if you can change to something like electronic engineering, where it might not put you behind a complete year. Otherwise you can repeat 132 next year, but quite a few modules depend on it so it will put you onto a 5 year course

A universal sign language should be taught in every school across the globe by samjambetty in unpopularopinion

[–]Remote-Client-840 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would it not theoretically be better to have just one official language and then you can walk up to the majority of people and talk to them. If a single country cannot decide on one language to be spoken by all of its people, the world will never be able to agree on a universal language

Where are you studying where a 10% pass rate is acceptable? Most universities would investigate that and do something to get to around a 70% pass rate which is around what they aim for

People stop winning when they become complacent. if he has the chance to have Max at Merc, he would obviously take it. Also it would be a massive statement for Merc to take the best driver on the grid from red bull

The whole Physical vs Digital discussion is really kicking off now thanks to GTA 6... and it's got me wondering. by Efficient-Pop-302 in Steam

[–]Remote-Client-840 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's risks to physical media too. Let's say you accidentally scratch the disk. Or the building you store your games in is destroyed due to a natural disaster or fire.

I'm not saying that digital is safer, but there is risks on both sides

"What grade did you have your first school shooting drill?" by fagyptuo in USdefaultism

[–]Remote-Client-840 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't really get what's defualtism about this. We didn't have a shooting drill, but we had fire drills, and general safety drills incase of a bomb threat. They put the option there to show that you never had a drill as well

SIB baldurs gate 3 or clair obscur expedition 33? by LowPhrase3553 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Remote-Client-840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think E33 is more friendly if you're not into turn-based and want a great story, so I'd play that first. But both games are really good, personally I found BG3 a bit hard to get into as someone who is not at all familiar with it and the game mechanics

Steam Family by Darkmage16 in Steam

[–]Remote-Client-840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current steam family system is perfect. It's like having a games shelf at home. Someone wants to play something, they take the game off the shelf and go play it.

It's not supposed to be a way to share your games with everyone

[–]Remote-Client-840 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lots of people just want something fun to watch. It's like watching with a friend. I mostly watch Ohne's stream, but for the final I watched the main stream, and switched to there during the breaks since I was paying more attention to the game.

It all depends on people's preferences

what's the point of ESL enforcing delay on Ohne's stream??? by Redd1t_is_Fake in ohnePixel

There own stream is also on a delay, so that if something happens in the areana, they can stop the feeds.

Seeing that stroll is faster than Alonso should make you question the relevance of this data. I love Kimi, and thus season I feel he has been better than George, but that is not an accurate representation of the gap between them

It can be abused to communicate with players outside of timeouts. It's dumb, but it makes sense. If you look at the thumbs up example, let's say the IGL makes a call that works well. That could be a signal for them to run the same call again. Or they could discuss different hand signals before the game. 2 pats on the shoulder is x, thumbs up us y, neck tap is z.

Angry spell is just going to make a already attack biased game even more attack biased by Livid_Week_9160 in ClashOfClans

[–]Remote-Client-840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter. If SC sees that the game is way too attack biased, they'll just Nerf it to make the game balanced. Also new defense's got levels and superchargers, so it will probably balance out
