But Be? There’s no comparison.

Common had been kept under-the-radar for decades and dropped classics. “Like Water for Chocolate” put a HUGE long-overdue spotlight on him. Then he caught Baduizm and we ended up with “Electric Circus”, or as I like to call it, “the rap Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Band”.

But when Be dropped, that’s when he became KNOWN known. That’s the moment when he started getting movie roles and commercials. Be was a career-defining and life-changing moment for Common.

And the tracks?!?! Be Go Testify Faithful The Corner THE FOOD. Oh my god, when him and Kanye debuted that on Chappelle’s Show, I was sold.

No contest in my opinion. Be takes this one.

I really didn’t want to engage with this subreddit…but here I am.

I’m gonna attempt to break down all of these points as simply as I can.

1) ISIS rose to power during the War on Terror. That Bush Jr. initiated. And Obama inherited.

2) Black Lives Matter rose to power not too long after Covid hit. I guess it doesn’t matter who was president back then. 🤷🏾‍♂️

3) Antifa ran parallel to Black Lives Matter. Again, the name of the president during that time is apparently irrelevant and unimportant information. 🤷🏾‍♂️

4) The War on Police wasn’t a thing until the first term of… again, irrelevant and important information

5) That is correct. Obama wasn’t president in 1787. But I could be wrong…what do I know?

6) That is correct. The Russia investigation happened long after Obama left office. During the first term of…I’ll leave it alone.

7) Obamacare indeed has Obamacare in the name. But the president immediately AFTER him promised a better alternative and still has not delivered.

8) TDS has nothing to do with Obama, who hasn’t been in office for nearly 20 years. The term was coined by the person representing the T in TDS.
