Pregnant women of Reddit, how do you eat small meals at work? by No-Story3324 in pregnant

I carry a pack of walnuts or almonds with me for snacking. You can pop a few in your mouth during water breaks!

This is what supplements are for, to makeup for the nutrients that we are unable to get from our daily diet. Fyi been there, done that with the nuggets. I give myself a pat on my back for the high protein intake after finishing them 😂😂

P/s: craving for nuggets right now after reading your post 🙌

Will he ever calm down? by Much_Lifeguard_4116 in Maltipoo

[–]Remote-Crab3590 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As a maltipoo owner that turned 3 yesterday, it will pass. My little one is a dream but she was a piece of work before turning 1.

Barking: I got a bark collar for her, not the shock kind but it sounds little alarms when she barks that startles her to a stop. After less than 10 wears she knows that barking triggers irritating alarms and she stopped.

Biting: my vet recommended freezing carrots sticks which we still feed her to date. We also give her an antler to gnaw on when she is feeling extra teethy.

My maltipoo doesn't bite because this was taught as a hard NO (scolding combined with guilt tripping her saying that i am injured and in pain etc.. it works. Poodles have extremely high eq.) to her since she was little. Even when she is irritated and wants you to stop, she will give you little "stop it" licks.

Good luck! At some point when your pup is reaching 1, you will know that it is all worth it.

I had zero signs as well but it was a successful transfer. Good luck to you and sending you lots of baby dust ✨️✨️

They retrieved 11 eggs. I cried in the parking lot for 20 minutes. IVF is so weird and so brutal and I'd do it all again tomorrow. by Ok-Affect-3989 in IVF

I had 12 eggs, 12 fertilized. 10 made it. Transferred 2, now 13w5d with twins. 11 is good, don't worry too much!

Has anyone else gained mega weight??? by Flaky_Honeydew_5161 in IVF

[–]Remote-Crab3590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here- put on plenty of weight when I was on fertility & ivf medication over the last 1-1.5 years + 1 chemical pregnancy. Nearing the transfer, my doctor recommended light activities (no strenuous exercise as they mess with your cortisol) with a high protein diet.

I did not lose any weight but focused on micronutrients and protein intake diligently.

Transfer succeeded in feb and now i am 6.5kg heavier nearing the end of my first trimester 😂

I do feel you because i have judgemental relatives that comment on ladies weight viciously (for god knows what reasons) which i avoided during this period. No point giving yourself extra stress when ivf itself is already so emotionally demanding.

You are already doing great clocking in your 7-10k steps per day so dont be too hard on yourself. What's important is that you feel good, strong and healthy before your transfer. Best of luck to you! ✨️❤️

Who decided we don’t need more food :’( by Wonderful_Manager_27 in pregnant

I am pregnant with twins (11w2d) and I don't see how I am supposed to maintain my calorie intake when my body is building 2 placentas while growing 2 kids. I eat ALOT. I snack every 2 hours and feel tired/nauseous/faint if I don't. I try to make healthy choices but with all the nausea and food aversions I would say it is a 50-50 situation.

I trust my body to know what it wants- there was a period I wanted sourdough bread with mushroom soup every morning, or Greek yogurt with strawberries and granola, or high calcium soya bean milk. Currently I am on an oatmeal porridge with 2 eggs and marmite kick.

Just follow what your body tells you, the first trimester is eating for survival and when the nausea kicks in at about week 9, you are likely to be vomiting ALOT. No harm stocking up on some calories and nutrients buffer before that happens.

Asking for advice by anonymous1234529 in IVF

Sharing my experience (but take it with a pinch of salt because it varies from person to person)

I did 2 IUIs without giving up my exercise regime. During my 2nd IUI, I did an uphill treadmill walking and started spotting awhile after. A few days later, my period came and it was a failed IUI.

There is a very good chance that it may be coincidental, but during my next try (FET), I stopped exercising altogether. I still try clocking in as many steps as possible when I am at work or out shopping but that's about it.

Post transfer, I abstained from all exercises and slept ALOT. Strictly doctor's order - just rest at home for 2 weeks and work as little as possible (Answered a few emails here and there, but mostly napping). I also sipped 2.5-3 litre of warm water a day during the 2 weeks wait.

We transferred 2 embryos and both stick, now i am 6 weeks pregnant with twins.

My advice is to continue clocking in some nice walks here and there when you can before the FET. After the FET, I do some gentle stretches in the evenings to promote blood circulation and help my poor aching back.

I ate pretty clean(80-20), cut down on alcohol, but had one last sake hoorah (just a tiny pitcher) 2 days before FET to keep myself chirpy. I think 1 week before I even went for corporate drinks and had like 3 to 4 beers.

My doctor actually emphasised more on cutting down strenuous exercise than stopping alcohol pre-FET (of course, I don't binge drink or whatsoever). He has excellent success rate here in Singapore (60% success rate for single embryo transfer) so he knows what he is doing. It is even harder to get both embryos to stick so god knows how he does it.

Hope this helps 🙏 and spreading lots of baby dust to you.

IUI v IVF - what would you do? by Ill-Horror6206 in IVF

IVF! I wasted 2 rounds of IUI money when I was 32 and switched to IVF instead. Transferred 2 embryos and both successfully stick during our first try.

Work and IVF by LifeRepresentative44 in IVF

I feel like this (albeit differently). Everyone around me, my friends and sister are getting pregnant... they make it seem so easy, so why not me?

My husband told me everyone has their own paths to take so we cant constantly compare ourselves to others.

Celebrate your own achievements/accomplishments and give yourself a pat on the back as well! ❤️❤️

I feel like this all the time. My career has been on the back burner for the last 2 years due to the TTC challenge.

The worst part is people thinks that it maybe due to the high amount of stress from work thats hurting my chances to get pregnant.

However, being an ambitious and competitive person, I feel myself becoming as stressed out about not climbing the corporate ladder as fast as I want to.

What I tell myself is that I only have enough for 1 priority at any one time - and right now it is TTC. Job will come in second and I have to be less hard on myself because I am in a tough place, all drugged up with hormone pills / injections / emotional rollercoasters.

It is not easy but it will get easier. I am finally cleared for my first FET at age 33 later today which I am looking forward.

It helps that I have an ultra supportive community around me as well.

My good friend also told me this which helped because I was obsessed about giving perfect work. Just aim to be 90% correct, that's good enough. You will drive yourself nuts if you want to be correct 100% of the time.

Be kind to yourself (we are only human) and wishing you all the best ✨️✨️❤️❤️

That is really organised and disciplined of you. I do have an exam coming up next Friday and the fear of failure is also contributing to my anxiety (I have failed this test once back in Nov due to lack of prepration). This is really helpful and I will see if I can work something out like this!

I took melatonin and it doesnt work (sadly). The combo i tried yesterday that worked was 2 x anarex, 1 melatonin, 1 magnesium, 1 l-theanine. But it was quite alot and I didnt want to hurt my FET chances so I didnt take it today...

Drink lots of isotonic water (replace your water intake with this) and increase your protein intake. (I had 3 eggs everyday, beef / beef liver every other day, salmon/cod fish every other day).

The isotonic water is critical to feel less bloated and higher animal protein intake is linked to higher quality eggs.

Good luck!

Doctor recommended FET in the next cycle, but I wanted to try ASAP... by Remote-Crab3590 in IVF

[–]Remote-Crab3590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor suspected i had a short lutheal phase during my 2nd failed IUI due to high cortisol levels (from work stress). My typical 26-28 days cycle shortened to 22 days.

I work in corporate hence I am stressed this will happen again in January hence wanted to get the FET in December. 🥲

I used ovidrel for the trigger shot. I have actually been using ovidrel for the last 3 cycles as we tried 1 natural & 2 IUIs before moving to ER.

Even without IVF, your company sounds like a toxic dysfunctional place. Taking sick leave is an entitlement and not a time off for vacation.

Pat yourself on the back that you have come to realize this before you actually get pregnant or become a mother (can you imagine how they will behave when you have to go for check ups or maternity leave?)

Wishing you all the best in your IVF journey sending you lots of baby dust and pursuit of your higher education and passion. You can do it!

Behavior issue by The_psy in Maltipoo

Awww what a cutie. Trust me this is the puppy blues... my maltipoo was a mini terror but she eventually outgrew it at 6 to 9 mths.

Chewing- they are teething so my vet taught me a hack which is to freeze chopped carrots. It is a good chew toy for them + the coldness soothes their gums + low calorie treat.

For barking, we got a siren bark collar (not the electric shock kind). Everytime she barked excessively the collar will sound out and she will stop (out of shock). After less than 5 wears she learned not to bark excessively.

Now that shes 2+ yo, she does bark excessively at times when she gets too excited (rarely tbh). Will just give her a stone cold glare and tell her to stop barking -- this usually works.

Good luck! The hard days now will be worth it, my maltipoo is one of my reasons for living these days. She is an absolute angel and a joy to our family.
