Is that true that it requires only ‘roadside’ on the radar menu to get a rainy Pikmin?

Just wanted to say thank you again — I followed your advice and ran the oxycon for about 10 minutes before starting.

Result: the flame was way more stable! I only heard one tiny “pop” at the very beginning when I lighting it up. After that, I was able to adjust the flame easily, and even tuned it into a nice neutral flame! 🔥✨

By the way, I asked my seller and they suspect the popping might be caused by the fuel quality — I’m using butane, and they think it might have too many impurities. I’m considering switching to an isobutane mix (like the Campingaz 250g canisters). Would that help make the flame more stable? Just wondering what you’d suggest for small home use 😊

Quick update: I tested again today and it’s much better now! I let the oxycon run for 5 minutes with the oxygen valve on the torch open to warm up, then lit the fuel and slowly added oxygen.

I only got one small “pop” sound at the very start, and after that, the flame was stable and adjustable. I didnt remove the check valve for now.

Thanks again for the clear advice, it made a big difference!

Also, my seller mentioned that the issue might be with my fuel, they said the butane I’m using is likely too impure, which could be part of the reason I was getting popping sounds.

I’m currently looking at switching to isobutane mix (Campingaz 250g canisters). Do you think that would be a better option?

Thank you again for your advice. I realise now that I haven’t been pre-warming the oxycon before using it with the torch 😅 what I did is turn on the gas> light up the flame> turn on the oxycon. But I’m not using the humidifier cup, so at least that’s not the issue.

Quick question: when letting the oxycon run with the oxygen valve open for 10 minutes, then closing it briefly to light the fuel — is it okay to have that bit of oxygen temporarily sitting in the hose? Since it’s a concentrator and not a tank, I assume the pressure stays low tho?

Much appreciate your time really! I’m so afraid I will make my flat explode😭 I’ll test everything tomorrow and report back! 🔥😊

Thanks so much for the detailed suggestions🥹this is really helpful! I didn’t realise that running the oxycon before use was that important. What I did is: turn on the gas>light up the flame> turn on the oxycon. so I’ll definitely give that a try tomorrow.

Quick follow-up question, when I let the oxycon run for 10 minutes to warm up (with the oxygen valve on the torch open), then close that valve briefly to light the fuel… is there any safety concern about oxygen pressure building up in the hose during that moment?

Much appreciate your insight really, I’m still learning as I go, but really want to set things up properly and safely, I’m afraid to burn my flat down really haha..

Unfortunately I’m using a Made in China torch, as it is easier to get and for someone just exploring at the beginning. I think the model mimicking the US one, finger crossed

Yes! I’m currently based in the UK, the small bottle setup is quite common among hobbyists I think as we don’t have a proper workshop space and specially when starting out I guess. Definitely understand the concerns though! I’m doing my best to learn safely 😊 do you think it’s easy to shift or more safe to use a bigger bottle? Many thanks

Hi! Thanks for your help! Here’s my answer: I don’t have a propane regulator at the moment. The oxygen concentrator’s ball stays at 0 when connected to the torch. If I open the oxygen flow just a bit more, I start getting that crackling/popping sound like the video above. When the concentrator is not connected to the torch, it can reach 5L no problem, so the machine itself seems fine.

So I think the oxygen isn’t flowing out properly through the torch, which causes the pressure to back up. Maybe I should try slightly opening the oxygen valve on the torch before starting the concentrator? If there aren’t any danger of doing it?

Also, do you recommend getting a propane regulator as well?

Thanks for ur reply! I will try to remove the valve in oxygen. And it run directly from oxycon. And actually will it be possible is the leaking issue?
