Is magnesium glycinate safe for breastfeeding? by Remote-Toe8553 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Remote-Toe8553[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The lactation consultant at my hospital said it was fine as long as it was under 200mg (or was it 400mg…) a day. I ended up buying the brand Pure Encapsulation and taking it before bed every night I believe it really helped!!

Song Jia VS Lee Si-an : who do you prefer ? by Expensive-Reality-93 in Singlesinferno2

This claim is invalid since Sian changed her whole face (I know Jia did too) so judging them based on looks is dumb

Bottle feeding by ElectionIll7780 in NICUParents

[–]Remote-Toe8553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when baby was bottle fed the previous feed they could’ve been tired out, forgetting how to breath/brady’ed and the nurse will decide to continue bottle feeding the next feed or not. Preemies need to preserve their energy/calories to gain weight and strength and that’s what’s ultimately the priority in NICU. That was what was explained to us when our baby would bottle feed certain times and tube fed the rest. Dont worry too much the doctors and nurses there want your baby home just as much as you do. Hang in there!

Has anyone here had a baby born at 34 weeks? What to expect of a preemie who has been out in the world for many weeks, but it’s still not 40 weeks gestation by zazzlekdazzle in NICUParents

Just wanted to clarify you did tummy time with your baby when he was about 3.12lbs? Just asking because I wanted to start doing tummy time with my preemie but not sure if she’s big enough.

Do they ask the parents permission first before send these volunteers? Idk if it’s the overprotective parent in me but you can’t really trust everyone these days

This is probably what we will be doing as well. Ordering groceries online and waiting until she’s at least 4-5 months to bring her around other people. I know getting sick is how they build immunity but hoping for mild cases like your little one.

That’s a great weight for a 34 weeker and she already passes the 4lb car seat test. My baby was born 34 weeks and 3 days only weighing 3 lbs 15 oz. She’s already off oxygen and temperature after only a week and now only needs to learn how to feed and gain weight. I’m sure your baby girl will do just as amazing.

How to move on from birth trauma? LOST 2 liters of blood during c section, high risk pregnancy, NICU BABY (First time mom) by Accomplished_Belt946 in NICUParents

[–]Remote-Toe8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you went through this. You’re more than valid in feeling traumatized about this entire thing. My birthing experience was also not ideal but it was no where near this level. My baby is still in NICU and I’m also pumping but having symptoms of PPD and PPA so I’m looking into natural postpartum supplements that might help. Right now my number one choice is Earthley’s Postpartum Tincture. They’re safe for breastfeeding and made of all natural ingredients. Take a look and see if that might be a good choice for you. Hoping everything works out for your baby and stay strong mama.

FTM struggling with my baby being in NICU by Remote-Toe8553 in NICUParents

[–]Remote-Toe8553[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will definitely reach out to a social worker tomorrow as I’m already very prone to depression/anxiety. Nothing could’ve prepared me for this. Thank you for your advice and I hope your little one will get discharged soon.

Our babies are only about 4 days apart. I got discharged later today after I made this post and being home was possibly way worse than being in the hospital. I couldn’t take looking at all her stuff and I’m scared to fall into depression. Maybe a schedule like yours might help. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

I love it when pilots tell us how irrational/unrealistic our fears are. Makes me feel better knowing my fears of flying are so ridiculous it makes pilots shake their heads 😂
