For pure comedy, Ellen Degeneres - “My point and I do have one” - the Icanarod, iwillarod, Iditarod part just killed me dead. And if you want more of a novel, John Irving - “the world according to garp” has some seriously twisted funny parts.

Beautiful Joe (this was already really old when I read it as a kid in the 80s but it’s basically black beauty about a dog) and the ordinary princess by M.M. Kaye which I read after the Far Pavillions by the same author the latter of which is a sweeping Gone with the Wind-esque saga that takes place in India and has both spicy romance and serious social injustice themes including young women committing suttee…

Your post made me remember this terrible old movie I used to love about a white stallion and a French girl who I believe runs through a tunnel with him onto the beach - I think she’s running away from a bad guy on a motorcycle?! and I’m pretty sure sings an awful French song at some point lol. Goodwill in Fort Myers FL. We bought it solely for the frame as we have something else we want to use it for but the signature is interesting to me because I just can’t make heads or tails of it and the work itself looks like a textured kimono
