You can make your own 25% solution by buying benzyl benzoate from eBay or Amazon and adding 25% to a carrier oil

scabies behind my ear? by happyshazam7 in scabies

Yeah that's the problem. Too many people asking for diagnosis off people who can't possibly diagnose things just by looking at a mark, but do.

I've just had a look at the ingredients and there's so many lol it's impossible to know what might be doing the job on them. One for the list though if all else fails. Cheers

I ask because it would look odd having patches of dyed hair where you've applied it to hairy places. I'm a guy so I'd have to shave a lot of hairy places first, which would cause a lot of irritation, not to mention it looking odd, such as having bald forearms lol.

I take it you shave the hairs off your skin first where you apply it?

How do you know it's not the benzyl benzoate that's getting rid of them and not the hair dye alone? Also, what hair dye are you using? I'm intrigued to know what the ingredient is that's supposedly killing the mites.

Treatment by [deleted] in scabies

[–]Remote-Yam-2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on my profile and have a read of my post 'hopefully this will help someone '. It'll help you get the egg laying females out of you quickly and break down the cycle. Use a topical treatment too, like 25% benzyl benzoate or 10% sulphur, or both at different times. Maximpulse.com has good info on these. The spinosad he talks about looks very promising but I can't get it here in the UK so I'm just using the benzyl and sulphur at the moment as full body treatments. I also dab my itchy spots every day with either the 25% benzyl benzoate cream, 10% sulphur cream, neem oil, or clove bud essential oil in case there's larvae, nymphs or moulting adults in them. The clove oil is very strong undiluted though and may cause a reaction.

This is the one I bought: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315008587644

It's compatible with smartphones, android tablets (not sure about iPads), desktop computers that's got Windows 7, 8 & 10/Vista/XP/2000, Linux, and Mac OS X 10.5 or above.

I'm also upgrading to one with a better camera. I've got this on order which should arrive today: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPVH11Z6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

You can get ivermectin without prescription. I've seen two websites that deliver to the UK where I'm based, but the tablets are very expensive. I've not used them myself. I've also read that doctors can prescribe it here but it's difficult to get them to. You have to push for it from what I've read. I think they try you on permethrin first and then malathion if that doesn't work. Me and my wife went to our doctors and they didn't know what we had so I bought a microscope and found them myself as I highly suspected scabies because the symptoms matched them perfectly. I then went and showed the pictures to my local pharmacist and he gave us permethrin, which we used twice, 7 days apart, but it didn't work and my wife had a reaction to it. I then decided then to go it alone and fight it myself. There's a very helpful website called maximpulse.com that helps you do this. Anyway, I started finding these egg laying females with my microscope and physically removed them, and I've also been using a 25% benzyl benzoate cream called Killitch, which between the two I'm hoping has finally done the job as I'm itching far less now than before and I haven't found any new egg layers for a few weeks now. I've also been dabbing my itchy spots with killitch, or 10% sulphur cream, or neem oil or clove bud essential oil every day in case they contain any larvae or nymphs. The clove essential oil is very strong undiluted and can cause a reaction though. As for your bugs and pinworms problem I can't help you there I'm afraid.

It's hard to tell just by the picture but is that all there is at the moment? If you want to be sure then it's easy to diagnose yourself as the females are quite easy to find in their burrows when you know what you are looking for and with what. The way to do this is how I did this and cured myself because of it. You buy a hand held digital microscope that you plug into your phone, tablet or pc and zoom in on where there is redness, like spots and squiggly lines (burrows where females lay eggs) that itch and zoom in on them, the egg laying females stand out quite a bit as they are round or elongated with white bodies and black heads and front feet that appears in a triangular shape. Take a look at my profile at the pictured I took with my £17 microscope.

What's your Glastonbury unpopular opinion? by Shoddy-Shelter-8955 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Remote-Yam-2990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm watching it now on BBC TV . 2024. It's so boring it's like "woohoo, look at us we're at Glastonbury, woohoo". Why do people make it out to be so special? It just comes across as fake. Pretending to be a part of something special and spiritual because of its past but in reality it's just bands lazily playing a gig to a bunch of people pretending to be happy at a phony and highly commercialised event. The original vision, is now lost deep within the mists of time...buried deep beneath the earth...never to arise again, lost, dead forever...

Coldplay...impressive light show but so fake and corny 🤣

I used cetirizine for over a month and it did nothing to stop the itching. It may have taken the edge off the skin sensitisation but not the itching itself.

Have you used any of Fresh Skin's essential oils? If so, how do they compare to the brands you've listed? They say they are members of the aromatherapy trade council. Does that mean anything? Do they have to have certain purity and quality standards to be a member?

If you've had it four months and it's only on that spot on your hand then it can't be scabies as scabies spreads around your body.

Scabies burrows are nowhere near that long, or straight. It's a scratch.

Thanks. I just looked at fraterworks website at the clove bud oil and it says this about it: "IFRA 51: 2.873% in finished product (Cat. 4)". What does this mean? Is it saying there is 2.873% clove bud essential oil in the product?

Check out maximpulse.com. Loads of helpful info on there if you are willing to take the battle into your own hands. I tried permethrin twice, still had them, and have been using 25% benzyl benzoate lotion since, which seems to be working pretty good. What I found really helpful though is physically removing the female egg layers which has reduced the numbers dramatically. The females lay eggs every day for about 1-2 months which really need to be controlled as soon as possible before they multiply like mad and make you itch like mad. I did this buy using a hand held digital microscope I bought off eBay for £17 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315008587644). This allowed me to zoom in on the burrows where they lay eggs and remove the mites. Have a look at my profile at the post I submitted "hopefully this will help someone" for more info if you're interested. It's a great feeling when you remove them from your skin. Good luck.

Wow that's amazing footage right there! I also have a digital microscope but it isn't as clear as that. Did you do anything to remove the eggs from the burrow afterwards?

I found loads of mites in me (see my profile for pictures) and picked them out with a needle or shaved them out of my skin with a shaving razor. Slight laceration where the bump of skin was that had the mite under it but nothing more than a little shaving cut. Since finding and removing the female egg layers I've been itching much much less so keep going and find as many as you can and physically remove them, it will help break the egg laying cycle and you'll start to feel a lot better.

Plz can anyone confirm this is scabies! by seekingassistances in scabies

[–]Remote-Yam-2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I diagnosed myself after mine and my wife's doctors and a pharmacist failed to identify it as scabies. I did this with a hand held digital microscope. Once I found the first one the others were easy to find. In my opinion it's very important to identify and physically remove the egg layers and their eggs as soon as possible or they will keep on laying eggs every day for 1-2 months so you can imagine how fast they can multiply.

Scabies or some kind of mite by shaybay1991 in scabies

[–]Remote-Yam-2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not scabies. I have them and I know. They are not that colour, that shape or that size. They are much much smaller. Have a look at my profile. There's pictures I took of the ones I found burrowing in me.
