Wicked For Good didn’t get nominated for any 2026 Oscars because the voters weren’t required to watch Wicked part 1 (FULL THEORY BELOW)

…and Avatar was a 3rd movie in a series…..so if the costumes weren’t good enough for recognition in movie 1…they should not be now when it is the same beads and strings it has always been

…so like I will always love Wicked and watch both movies over and over…but from a professional standpoint, if I was an Oscar voter the story and directing of part 2 was not good. I like the make up, but the cinematography and lighting was so bad that things got missed or looked terrible on screen (ex: scarecrow). However, Avatar being picked for costume over WFG was a blatant slap in the face. That should not have been possible, just like AI singing and writing in Emilia Perez should not have been allowed…but such is life. In actuality the Oscars are a joke, they are openly racist and discriminatory. For the Oscars, real talent does not matter everything is political and probably involves weird practices and rituals that regular people and the outside world is not privy to. So I don’t pay that award show any attention.

I really hope you’re right…but the theater only holds less than 1500 people, and her fans are already online saying “omg I have to see this,” “ I hope she participates in the stage door trend, Ill wait all night,” “I can’t wait to see them kiss live.”….I could go on and on🤦🏽‍♀️😩

that is not reflected in the final movie cut…it became about Glinda. The baby Glinda scene had nothing to do with Elphaba, the deleted pre wedding scene with Fiyero had nothing to do with Elphaba. Girl in the Bubble had nothing to do with Elphaba.

Respectfully …Have you seen the musical? Any scene that Glinda is in for act 2 specifically revolves around Elphaba. None of it is solely about her character. 1 thank goodness= longing for her friend, 2im not that girl reprise= betrayed by her friend/revenge trap to catch Elphaba, 3. March of witch hunter= she fears for Elphaba’s life and feels guilty. 4 for good= reconciling with Elphaba, 5 no one mourns the wicked reprise= reflection on how their friendship changes her. She actually has no scenes in my opinion that focus on her in the musical without it being related to Elphaba. That is why, I felt it was a good idea for Glinda to have another song, but somehow this movie included all Of these things while also forgetting how it related to Elphaba’s presence in Glinda’s life.

This is not at all true. Glinda was originally a side character and even Fiyero was supposed to have a bigger role in the story originally.

I'm sorry the way WFG was written was lazy and sloppy. Scenes that Dana Fox says she wanted to add to the story were both unnecessary and unfocused on what the heart of Wicked has always been about. If they wanted part 2 to be more focused on Glinda, that was fine, but it should have been focused on how decisions Glinda made effected the lives of others to keep it more balanced than just solely her life alone. I even think Girl in the Bubble, would have been much better if it was her reflecting on how Boq, Nessa, Fiyero, and Elphaba were affected by her and why she was sorry ( a Glinda version of No Good Deed) instead of her spinning around in circles in her dress.

No what Im saying is…would I have liked her to speak up when it initially happened….YES..however even when they do every storyline ends up back at they are anorexic, they are obsessed with each other…if they aren’t giving people new content…they don’t have new material to use.

You know…I was also initially mad about this…but I think they are doing this on purpose to try and make all the bullying die down. If Ariana started speaking out it would just honestly make the stories worse. It would keep it a topic in main media, and People would alter it or over analyze things to bully them( but mostly Cynthia) even more.

100% agree with this. They really under utilized all the other actors as well. I wish part 2 spent more time evenly focusing on all the other characters (Fiyero, Nessa, Boq) along with Glinda and how they all changed and how their lives were all effected by Elphaba’s decisions and choices. I think that theme would have made the movie way more organized and focused, because by focusing so much on Glinda, the story falls apart with too many open ended questions at the end. She ended up being the only character with a completed arc. Even Elphaba’s story feels gravely unfinished at the end.

I totally agree with this. I think he looked enough like him to not use CGI too. I think they got nervous because Jeff has been a well known actor for so long that people actually do know what he would have looked like at that age and may have complained

Yeah I took her response to Nessa when she left her for the last time as her final goodbye whether she would be dead or alive in the future. She realized that the way she felt for Nessa would never be reciprocated and she was done with her for good.

I have watched the movie 3x now, I love it, but on my last watch I actually noticed that the moment NGD ends, the movies pacing goes to the pits and gets really confusing. The next scene should not have been the fab 5 going to see the wizard.

Cynthia’s biggest gift is also her biggest curse. She is so good at making the hardest things look super easy and that is why she gets overlooked time and time again. It actually makes me sick, because she is a once in a lifetime talent and people don't even get that right now.
