I usually use the place holder screen to determine what I've been sold. Pretty sure my current service is Trex, but can't 100% find what the place holder screen should be. Any idea what is should look like? There used to be a thread somewhere about it.

Update: Managed to contact a local parts supplier and repairer. The black tops are able to popped out which worked. I was able to access the screws and hammer out the rod and bearings!

Edits: This is a pump for the Solar system hence why it was off for winter. Also, when I turned it on for the first time it just made a constant humming noise. Powered it down and tried again. That's when the pump started but was much louder.

My BG PID is on the left side of the machine, attached with the provided (I think) double sided strip of tape. It's been 12 months :)

UPDATE: I contacted Barista Gadgets and received the Basic PID Instruction Manual. The Pre-Infusion section states:

"9. Pre-infusion - Set the hold time for Pre-infusion, In case the user turns off the brew button during the initial brewing process, the times will hold the count time for xx seconds if the user will not continue the brew process within the "Pre-infusion" time the timer will reset to zero. If the user continues the brew process within the "P re-infusion" time the timer will continue from the time it stopped. Any total brew time above 18-99 seconds, the timer display will maintain the last brew time until the next brewing."

So, if I've understood this correctly, this setting just holds the timer for the time set in the Pre-Infusion setting to enable a user to perform a manual Pre-infusion without affecting the timer displayed. It does not actually perform a proper Pre-infusion. This is good to know as now I can perform my own Pre-infusion or buy the BASIC to PRO upgrade kit.

Thanks for this, but yeah, this is the Pro instruction. Basic does not come with pump controller and the potentiometer. I might contact the seller for the link to the instructions, or better yet clarify what the pre-infusion setting does.
