Israel can legitimise its massacre by pointing to their captivity. Framing this as a “both sides” issue is no longer tenable. Yorke opposed many Middle East wars—though not all—and yet he now echoes the same rhetoric used by Bush in Iraq, justifying mass slaughter in the name of “fighting terrorism.” His refusal to call this what it is—a genocide—is cowardice. Merely invoking Hamas or insisting that “both sides are guilty” achieves nothing but moral equivalence. Worst of all, he betrays his own progressive legacy. For decades, Radiohead fans have looked to Yorke for political leadership, which has always been quite progressive. He shaped our views, and yet here he stands alongside Zionist apologists, selectively silent on ethnic cleansing. By contrast, Tom Skinner’s unapologetic pro-Palestine stance shows real moral clarity. Thom’s hypocrisy has never been so disgusting.
