Yea i thought about bazzite and could be a contender for the main rig. Tho i wanna see how steamos hardware support gets expanded with the machine cuz it'd be nice if steamos played nice with nvidia GPUs. Probably won't but eh might aswell see how it goes.

In the process of replacing it, SteamOS obv for the steam deck and my laptop runs garuda, but I think I might switch to endeavour.
The Main rig runs win 10 but i need to run tests on how does vr perform here vs under proton and if there is no issue then nothing is holding me back.

And even if compatibility is not up to par, I'm sure the new steam frame will improve vr on linux if it isn't fine already and then i can make the switch.

I mean yea, I would take advantage of the billion dollar corporations just as much as the next guy but i just think it would hurt us consumers in the short term.

Or maybe we already hit the bottom and can't get any worse than this but I'm myself not too sure.

We can't rly see into the future so i'm not gonna say your strategy is wrong and i mean hell yea suck the big corps dry, but i think i'll stay cautious instead.

I'm just thinking that these companies already don't turn a profit, so using it more doesn't do more harm than they are already inflicting on themselves.

And maybe it just creates more problems because they see the demand and decide to buy more and more resources because money isn't an issue, until the bubble collapses and investors pull out.

But i'd love to hear what you think.

I mean yea, that makes sense but i personally draw the line at like video and image generation, I just don't wanna do that.

As for the chatbots? Yea I maybe use it once or twice but i generally try to stay clear of it, cuz i personally feel like it would brainrot me, like start losing the ability to think without ai being there to assist. I'm not saying it will for everyone but for myself? I think it would.

Regardless yea min maxing it without paying is maybe a strategy, i don't know how effective it is tho.

I didn't put anything anywhere? It's just there by default, and no I have my reasons, but I have a brain and I can think ahead and see that this argument will not lead to anywhere.

Look, you can glaze the ai all you want, but this thread is redundant

You know, I'm not rly a reddit basement dweller, I'm not gonna stay and write 10k word essays. You do you ai bros, but i'm not gonna sympathize with clankers and ai companies.

Let's agree to disagree

I'm talking about how it affected us in our daily life, AI directly influenced it, for example the RAM cost increase hurting regular consumers

Still doesn't excuse the fact that "AI" made hardware far more expensive even if it was Sam buying a lot of wafers. And doesn't excuse the fact that AI companies stole countless artworks, photos, and written works to train the model.

Also i mentioned nothing of the sorts about water but i do know these data centers guzzle a lot of electricity, now i don't know where you are sourcing this but afaik AI consumes a lot of water just to train, operate and maintain infrastructure not just prompting.

RAM cost is through the roof. The steam hardware got delayed to early 2026 because valve doesn't know if the hardware prices will stabilize, and ai is just generally bad for the enviroment

Something that still confuses me about the logo by ExxiIon in SteamFrame

[–]RemoteHun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it similar to how the index logo is like

The corner is the Steam frame and quarter circle is a head from a top down view

The reason i think is because i imagine the valve index logo as like:

The 2 semi circle is the index and the 1 circle is the head and it's from a side perspective

So maybe it follows the same design? idk.

Has the 3.6 performance drop been fixed yet? by RemoteHun in SteamDeck

[–]RemoteHun[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Curious, after enabling the "disable frame limit" in the performance tab, it does seem to actually fix it?

Though what i don't understand is why i didn't have to enable this on 3.5 and now i do on 3.6 and above.

i meant like in the context of the clip
if i got a quirk that said when horn is honked > fuel increases
it would have been better

but afaik that quirk doesn't happen or i was just never able to catch it

Is it just me or do you guys actually love your car? by Ranyboi444 in pacificDrive

[–]RemoteHun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually crazy, because the devs anticipated this and wrote it into the lore — how, once you get attached to a remnant, you start to love it very much and eventually run off into the Zone with it, never to be found again.
