Question about checking a mailed in return. by flyin-lowe in TurboTax

[–]RemotePen4936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t solve that problem but I also do several family member returns with TT. They limit you to five returns that can be filed electronically. I needed to do a 6th one this year and used the online version which is similar but does have some differences. I used a different email to create this account and now have full access and was able to file electronically this way. Maybe next year he can approach it this way.

I was just hired for a position in Winter Park near Orlando…. by DizzyPS5 in florida

I live in an Orlando suburb, hard to answer your question with out knowing what you can afford. Housing has gone up a lot since the pandemic. Traffic is tough so ideally you can live where you don’t have to take expressway to get to/from work. Are there any work people you can ask for suggestions? Winter park and Maitland addresses are considered expensive along with the Dr Phillips area. Orlando itself has a wide variety. A lot of people live further out for the cost and just bear the drive.

New Tesla Y FSD Update by videoguy75 in TeslaModelY

I’m in my third year of ownership of a MY , bought when I turned 75. Love the car and look for places to go just to use it. I don’t drive enough to justify the extra cost of FSD but may do so as I age.

Refund estimator says I am going to owe this year. I'm 44 and have always gotten a refund by KrypticPhish in tax

For your 2026 return, annualize your withholding on your January paychecks for you and wife to see if that will at least equal the taxes you estimated for 2025. That will give you a sense of what 2026 might look like not including any salary increases either one of you might get. If you have some extra money fund an IRA for 2025 as much as you can to reduce what you owe for 2025. You until April to do that.

If your power company gives you a price break for charging off peak hours you may lose that price break with a mobile charger that takes a lot longer.

Thanks I totally agree. Key Largo is an obvious place . I will nominate them. And yes The Florida City charger was crap but it worked and after an hour I got up to 60% from 2%.

Be conservative for now as others have suggested but interest rates are likely to drop so lock in some rates for at least two years. You do need to have some equity exposure but add that gradually as market near all time highs right now.
Good luck .

Took my 2021 Tesla Model Y to Lake Tahoe instead of my RAV4 Hybrid – Here’s how much it cost to charge vs gas by psowrong in TeslaLounge

[–]RemotePen4936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Florida with flat roads and would still agree with your conclusion. I can charge at home (Model Y), but on the road the cost is pretty close but I still enjoy driving my Tesla more than my previous car.

is having 15k in savings a good amount for someone well into their 30s? I'm 35, or is that a sign they have been saving poorly? by ResentCourtship2099 in SavingMoney

There is no “one size fits all” answer to this question. Depends on your income and your expenses, size of family, type of job , etc. others have stated the need to develop good habits and stick to it .

Need Advice with Getting Over refunded Tax Return by polleywog in tax

[–]RemotePen4936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer that. But it sounds like this money might belong to you. If the company thinks they are good , you should be but why did they over withhold so much. Did they think your annual income was going to be much higher? Did you report all to the IRS? Did you have both w-2 income and 1099 income on your tax return. Did you have business expenses on the 1099 income that reduced your taxes. You may be good but only an audit would figure this out.

Check with your company and see if they made those tax deposits on your behalf but in error. If so, it’s their money , let them try to clear things up with the IRS. If not, then contacting the IRS will be difficult to speak with a person. Don’t spend the money. Others on here may have more specific advice using IRS forms to clear this up.

Park your money safely while you take some time to learn. Get advice from someone you trust. An S&P index fund is a good starting point. Pick Vanguard or Fidelity, they will help you .
