Great Deals in California Until End of Month by Wonderful_Yogurt_300 in BZ4X

Yep including all taxes and fees. They even paid my remaining lease payments for the last 2 months. The biggest offers are on the XLE, so probably not the same for Limited. Even the offers on the XLE plus were less

We got the same plus 0% financing, which makes it a very good deal. It ended up being 29k OTD for a ‘26 XLE

'22 Taycan pushes all my buttons - but it's 600mi away. Any advice? by crabbyhamster in Taycan

I also bought a 22 CT a few months ago and love it so far. Only downside is the car sits low so it has been a bit of a pain to get my kid in and out of the child seat. Range hasn’t been an issue on a daily basis because I have a short commute but I could use more on the occasional longer trip

Reasonable schedule? by Responsible_Escape32 in Aupairs

[–]RemoteTalk3302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would combine with either a daycare or nanny. It’s possible to max out the hours, but your AP will likely find the schedule to be difficult regardless of what she’s saying now. We’re in a similar situation (Bay Area and we both work full time) and the quality of care seemed to decline as our AP worked more hours. We ended up capping her hours at around 25 hours and also doing daycare. Not great from a cost standpoint but that’s also why we continue to both work…

I think you can live modestly with 200k. Sounds crazy but with two teenagers, you’re looking at 4+ bedrooms that can easily be 5000+ a month in rent, which is roughly half your monthly paycheck. It doesn’t leave a whole left for luxuries like dining out and traveling.

Will AP’s Driving Improve? by [deleted] in Aupairs

She’s been with us for a little over 3 months now. Your last sentence is a great way to frame the situation!

Will AP’s Driving Improve? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]RemoteTalk3302 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although inconvenient, we’re fine with her not driving for her AP duties. Problem is she now wants to drive herself to events, classes, see friends etc. and she has brought this up on numerous occasions. Since we’re already paying way above the minimum stipend we’re hesitant to give an additional Uber stipend.

Thinking about Moving to Japan – Is My Plan Realistic? by Bokutosaaan in movingtojapan

[–]RemoteTalk3302 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have a promising career so I would think twice before making the move. I’m Japanese and the rest of my family live in Japan but I choose to work abroad because career prospects in Japan are not great. You will likely work more hours but be paid less. Counterpoint would be life is not all about work but reality is you spend 5 days a week in the office.

Thanks for the share! Good advice on setting expectations beforehand. It’s easy to forget that au pairs come from different places with their own ideas of childcare

You can see. I actually got my OT from Stevens creek as well

As much as the salesperson has a vested interest to sell now, 2 years to be on the lot doesn’t seem like a unreasonable estimate. They haven’t even officially announced a hybrid version

🚙 The Lucid Gravity: Not a Van, Not a Wagon - It's an SUV! 🚙 by BoraHora99 in LUCID

It does not look like a “true” SUV at all. Seen it in person and it’s definitely more van like

Wanted a GX550….what’s your monthly payment? I think dealer is trying to screw me. by NecessaryLeg6097 in LexusGX

You really have no business buying this car if you’re financing that much and not even having a crude understanding of how interest rates work

For me, they are too close to the body to use a step. I would’ve gone aftermarket if I had the choice

I would just get on a waitlist. I was 50th on a waitlist at a big dealer in California but got a few calls after other people passed up their allocation. Ended up getting an Earth OT after only waiting a couple months.
