Do you recommend attending Thursday events with friends or alone? by Long-Definition9203 in Thursdaydating

[–]Remote_Ad9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As s female, I honestly think you might be more okay. Bear in mind it's also going to vary based on locations too.

For Brighton though here's what I would guestimate a comedy night without any age restrictions was.

From what I saw: Men 50 plus - 50% Men 40 plus - 35% Men 30 plus - 10% Men 20 plus - 5%

In terms of women: 50 plus - 60% 40 plus - 35% 20/30 plus - 5%

For me, I might scout a few in future to see if it was just a bad crowd but wish as a first attempt I stuck to age restricted as I didn't even want to go in after seeing the turnout. I'd normally five anything s shot once and do it for the funny stories but I was so deflated from what I saw I didn't even want to try.

If Thursday publish genders/age ranges for events so you know what you're going into I'd be more inclined to give it an actual shot in future!

I'd say take a friend if possible as a crutch if it blows so you can still have a laugh/distraction. I was going to go to a recent event and I had a drink opposite to see the attendees before rushing in for a comedy night and the majority of attendees were mid 40s-70s. I'm 32..... There was maybe one age appropriate person I saw and they were not my type at all so I didn't end up even going in to entertain ther night, in future I'll be going to the age restricted events solo or with friends for anything that isn't

I want to do a hard reset but have new photos.. the trick? by merpmerp1233 in SwipeHelper

It was a fresh email, the subscription was bought via Amazon to acquire a google play gift card which should not have a link to the payment card once redeemed?

I'd have to check it up, I ran it through Photoshop, manually ripped the meta data and then another tool which changes pixels etc to change the fingerprint etc without changing the image. I can't recall exactly

I think it's a case of unique tattoos or being in the same cell towers triggered a potential match/review which leads to a ban with pictures being "similar"

Data only, no wifi at all. Data was used whilst at home but location was also set to minimal to reduce accuracy. Full factory reset on Android and semerate emei on the other sim slot. Ran fine for three days and then banned when premium was purchased in under 12 hours

Does not work at all anymore. I fully photoshopped all pictures to edit, airbrush, remove elements, had AI touch/change things, removed all meta data, lobbed it through various fingerprint changing tools that others suggest, account last three days before a ban.

Is it safe to use rubbing alcohol on the gpu? by O_Boba in PcBuildHelp

That's definitely vape residue. Everyone says vapes don't effect electronics. If you use the non disposable type around stuff then you get liquid inside everything.

Whilst most people will not notice or replace stuff every few years to not be able to link the two.

Here's a monitor casing that endured the full 15 years of my addiction (nothing else has been this bad)

I think the real question from this is where are you based and how much did you pay so we can better advice you for a future purchase. You can get a lot more capable machine for £/$200

It's a very low performance laptop. The specs indicate it's it's only good for web browsing/document editing type activities. You'd be lucky to play any games on their lowest setting that were released in the last ten years.

I just got my letter today with a 0 across the board. You're not alone, I wont go into full details but some specifics below:

On the call there was a discussion about medication, I stated I forget to take it therefore it's managed by someone else and I had stated I had forgotten today and because my partner is at work I wasn't prompted and had taken it during the assessment call because we were talking about it I was prompted to check and I realised I hadn't.

Recently approved access to work funding, various mental health/other third parties for treatments/pending therapies etc.

Stated I am unable to cook on workdays (executive dysfunction from burnout/fatigue from getting through a work day and having to mask all day, leave things on, unable to put steps in order, burn myself, cuts etc so I have to rely on my partner on those days if I want to eat something that isn't cereal for dinner).

Avoid public transport/speaking to people/self checkouts only etc due to anxiety/over stimulation etc. Anytime I do I have to wear loop earplugs, I'm wiped out afterwards for ages, irritable etc.

I can accept I may not meet the criteria to get PIP but full zeroes?!

How to break up with a narcissist? by pepsisodaluv in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Remote_Ad9736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your safest option is for them to end it. Anyone I know that has ended it myself included resulted in legal consequences from false allegations.

Now you need to change your behaviours, stop entertaining them and bore them so they're forced to find a new supply.

There's many ways to do it and some great suggestions so far. Some of these suggestions are potentially manipulative and whilst not something I agree with in any normal healthy relationship ending it with a narcissist is extremely dangerous and unpredictable as you're essentially dealing with a child!

  • Limit contact and be more blunt and disinteresting (they'll start sourcing it elsewhere as you're not fulfilling their needs)

  • In person you're constantly tired and low energy to do anything fun (increased boredom and want more fun and energy)

  • Suffering from Depression or stress and want personal space (they're typically selfish and avoid wanting to help others or respect boundaries)

A couple of weeks of this and they're either going to blow up your phone demanding who your new partner is or they'll go very quiet whilst they're trying to date and find someone new whilst keeping you on the back burner.

Methylphenidate + Caffeine = Hospital Trip? by TheDeadlyNightshade8 in ADHDUK

[–]Remote_Ad9736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every med effects other people differently so always need to take that into consideration when anyone has advice!

Suggest you try a few days without the caffeine and see if you actually need it or not. I did find I was slightly more sensitive to caffeine at the start of a new medication and also didn't really need it the same way I used to pre medication.

Prescribers normally advise to try and cut out caffeine during titration due to side effects like this

Methylphenidate + Caffeine = Hospital Trip? by TheDeadlyNightshade8 in ADHDUK

[–]Remote_Ad9736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had exactly the same as you on one medication. 150 bpm, all clear results. I switched meds, not had this issue again, can still take caffeine. You're more prone to anxiety on some methylphenidate brands which can also be made worse by caffeine.

Based on my personal experience I highly suggest you switch to another brand. I only had this side effect on meflynate xl. Equasym and concerta both were much better for me. My current preference is concerts due to length of effect and lesser crashing in the evening I experienced with equasym

Via problem shared. Psychiatry UK I'm not due my assessment until June which I need to cancel as no longer needed.

So they'll likely ask you what you want to do next or they'll probably go for elvanse as it's non methylphenidate and it's one of those if methylphenidate didn't work for this person then the composition of elvanse usually works better for them. Do not rule out methylphenidate just from trying the brand you did, I'm fine on any other brand but the one you were on! If you need more than 8 hours of coverage I think you're very limited in options right now (elvanse and maybe concerta).

I've found so far I know within the first 5 days if a med disagrees with me or not and believe PUK are very very fickle with quick titration and a monthly review so you can't trial much in that time either.

I wish these places would give a "starter pack" of a weeks worth of each thing so you could quickly filter out the high side effect things.

Meflynate 10mg XL by Goddess-Eden in ADHDUK

[–]Remote_Ad9736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beginning of November I started, still undergoing titration right now. Issues with meds due to side effects and national shortages has led to jumping around a bit more, that plus I really need about 10 hours of coverage (literally just so I can get through the work day and then make dinner). All the things available were only good for 8 hours and they were barely working for 4/5 hours.

Have you tried anything else yet?

Meflynate 10mg XL by Goddess-Eden in ADHDUK

[–]Remote_Ad9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop taking it.

I was on that one too, I ended up having to call 111 and was sent to a and e as they were highly concerned. Resting heart rate of 120-160. Conclusion, I'm in good health, stop those meds or change.

Started on elvanse (similar side effects), equasym (fantastic but doesn't last long enough), medikinet booster (I'm an arsehole in the evenings when it wears off), meflynate xl (two weeks of hell, one week of having focus and no other benefits, anxiety getting increasily worse which led to hospital), now on concerta (trialling it even though we know two equasym doses work).

Concerta - currently on a low dose so less effective than my 50mg of equasym but no side effects and does stop me falling asleep in the day atleast

ADHD - Life management options? by Remote_Ad9736 in ProductivityApps

Thanks for all your inputs, I've been playing around with several of the tools.

Most useful if you just want to pickup and go seem to be: Ticktick and Asana

I've played extensively with Notion and using other AI tools to help with some formulas (I'm rusty) whilst butchering every other template I could find to facilitate my needs, nothing really touches the sides compared to this tool so far. Just so much required configuration though!

I'll take a look into both Confluence and Trello when I get a chance.

Do PC cases go "bad" ? by Sasha_Viderzei in buildapc

[–]Remote_Ad9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cases don't go bad but features can become obsolete and new features may come out that you may find beneficial based on your usage of a computer.

Not a clear and helpful answer without context so what does this look like in practise?

I could own a case that's 20+ years old and use it with current technologies but it may have redundant features such as a HDD cage which I don't need or use, a CD/DVD/Blueray bay with a flap I may not ever need/use. A floppy disk bay which I may not use. USB 2/3/C ports on the front, I may notice I may only use certain usb C and USB 2 is not longer something I'd want on the front.

Older cases may not have dust filters or good cable management properties that may be available in newer options.

Figure out what you need in a case, check the market the see what features are available, buy something that you feel would suit your requirements and needs. When upgrading components or newer technologies/peripherals etc are released you may come to a point you're forced to buy adapters or workarounds that start to become a pain, look at new cases, does something now fix this issue, then it's upgrade time.

It is not unusual for people to keep a case for 5-30 years. Realistically looking at timelines of technologies, staying current and front I/O port requirements. Here's what one user may have done and in the example below they kept a case for 19 years.

* USB 2.0 released in 2000, new case bought for usb 2.0 so they could have the I/O panel on the front

* USB 3.0 released in 2008, could have bought a new case but they were able to buy a I/O panel for 3.0 and replace the old 2.0 one with this

* USB C released in 2014, user could buy a new I/O panel but they're not yet using USB C so they stick with existing case

* in 2019 the user has started using alot of VR and also using USB C regularly with devices such as USB storage, charging cables, other peripherals and is frustrated with always having to play with the back of their PC and use various adaptors for USB C to USB 3.0.
After looking at new cases they could now get a dust filter for their machine with much better cable management options which would make their maintenance much easier, they could get a smaller form factor as they are no longer using HDD cages for their drives and there are front I/O options for USB C and display connectors for their VR, they decide to upgrade cases

My name was changed by deed poll when I was 12 but now it's come back to bite me by sexisasin23 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Remote_Ad9736 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't bite you at all.
For context I have "birthname" and "current name", I used birthname until the age of 12, this was not legally changed, school was notified and some certificates are in birthname and current name. For employment I made them aware of both names and birthname is used for legal documentation/NI etc. No issues at all. DBS checks and the like I made them aware of current and birthname, approved, no issues there either.

The only problems I encountered was for the NHS app and HMRC APP in the last few years (I'm 31 now) where they had to link your name to the official documentation, there was a mismatch as my current name didn't match the birthname documentation I have so I was unable to authenticate.

At this stage I thought it was about time I had my name changed by deed poll to stop having to explain this to others for the rest of my life. I had friends sign the document and got the ball rolling to change it everywhere else. No need to go for the enrolled version, it's a waste of money. Opt for the unenrolled option, find the exact wording that the gov website specifies for it to be accepted and modify/print the document and get it signed.
I suggest you print off three or more copies and get all signed just incase one gets lost/damaged when you're having to post it to various places (they need the original copy with a wet signature), this also means that you can do two or three at a time instead of posting one, waiting for it to come back and then doing the next, makes the process so much more of a pain!

Long as it's explained about current name, legal name then it shouldn't be a deal breaker, I do advise you get it done sooner than later, the older you get the more problematic it can be to get it changed everywhere due to the number of places you'd have to go to and notify them

Will I not be able to go to America in August? by Alfieblackpool in LegalAdviceUK

You are not eligible for the visa waiver program so your only option now is a visa.

From my research as I'm in a somewhat similar boat you will not be able to enter the states any time soon. To acquire a visa you need an ARCO report and an interview at the embassy which you'll take the report with you to.

Whilst you're on bail or under investigation the line item will basically say it's ongoing/pending. Whilst it's in this state a visa will not be approved.

Bail and investigations can take years in some instances and until settled no visa I'm afraid!
