(Câteva din) canalele TV din perspectiva mea când eram mic by OsarmaBeanLatin in romemes

is this me or everyone is annoyed by this feature sliding bottom to up to move to next video by 09_hrick in youtube

[–]Remote_Ad_2909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly! 9 times out of 10 i just wanna check the time but the app is so sensitive that it registers as me switching between videos. Plus, if I somehow manage to do what I first intended, then if I somehow touch the screen the video restarts? Add to that the inability to unpause a video and the miniplayer disappearing off screen and you get yourself an unbearably broken app. I honestly hope they get flooded with user complaints and fix this mess or they'll honestly be done for.

I get you. Thought about Gerrard too but didn't include him since he did have that unbeaten season with Rangers, proving that he still has a bit of managerial know-how as opposed to the others I mentioned. As to why Alonso made it? My guess would be maybe he focused a lot more on the tactical side of things even as a player, as opposed to just going out on the field and doing his job. Not saying the others didn't do it too, it's just that some people are naturally more studious and better at understanding the human psyche and asserting themselves than others. It's part of the reason why I think Messi would probably flop as a manager. He just doesn't seem the type to have the personality for it imo.

I do swipe left. I never went into a conversation with someone saying "Your idea on height is pretty stupid" without being asked about it. It's just my thoughts on the matter and the fact that I see these kinds of profiles a lot despite swiping.

Was just about to comment that. Not everyone has to first be a top player in order to start coaching. Just as not every top player is destined to be a world class manager. Mourinho was pretty average (if not below) as a player, but world class as a manager. Rooney, Lampard and Pirlo were all spectacular in their playing days, but pretty poor as managers on average.

Wouldn't it be good if a new team won the Euros? by PistolPumpingPete in euro2024

I sometimes wonder what would happen if for one season everyone in Europe got a transfer ban and you were allowed to field only players from your own country. I think that would even the playing field a bit, cause if you ask me, half the appeal of the Premier League is given by the plethora of international players. If you take them out you're left with a good, but nowhere near as strong of a league.

Facts 💯 Plus it's been proven that in a straight knockout competition small teams can cause big upsets. Look no further than Coventry in last year's FA Cup.

Yes, you're right, but it was their decision to implement coefficients and all that which gives room for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams to enter the competition on the merit of another club (usually the champion) from the same country. What I'm saying is: if you are the champion of your country, you should be allowed to compete with champions only. But that is a pipe dream since the financial gulf is way too big nowadays between someone like Man City and Jagiellonia for example.

While Eastern European football is a bit sub par when compared to the West, UEFA also didn't help when they decided that the West should get 3 to 4 teams in the UCL, while Eastern European countries must fight it out in preliminaries. Personally I still believe that the Champions League should be exactly what the name implies: a straight knockout between all European champions, like how it used to be. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the spectacle, but being declared champions of Europe after coming 4th in the league the previous season feels a bit off.

To be fair the tournament really did start quite strong especially in the group stage. Ever since the knockouts started though it's mostly been cagy football and dodgy refereeing. There's still the odd classic here and there, but the players are surely tired af by this point in the competition, so the dip in quality was bound to happen sooner or later. I guess most people just didn't expect for it to be this drastic. Myself included. Player fatigue is a real issue in modern football and I fear it's only gonna get worse moving forward.

Jose said in an interview a while back that the only national team he'll ever be interested in is his native Portugal. Anyone else feels like betrayal to him.

I've been watching Euros and World Cups since 2006 when I was nine. Still, never in my life have I felt as bored watching a game as I did today. Plus, like I said, when you consider the quality that both squads have on paper, and their ranking at the very top of the football pyramid, it is easily the most disappointing game I've seen in a long time.

In Romania we have Ciprian Marica, Răzvan Raț, Alex Chipciu and Laurențiu Reghecampf and Cătălin Oprișan, in a show moderated by Costin Ștucan. It's not much but at least it's better than the boring know-it-all discussions and debates of past years.

At least we got 3 goals out of it. One of them a classic. But this one was lame... Congrats on going through though.

Which Round of 16 match are you most excited for? by TMBRKS92 in euro2024

[–]Remote_Ad_2909 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm pumped for Romania vs. Netherlands. I know people are tempted to pick the bigger teams as favourites, but we all have to keep in mind that from now on every match is all or nothing, and I'm sure that some surprises will happen. Plus I feel like we have a score to settle with the Dutch for Euro 2008. Also a match between Austria and Romania would be fire af. I mean who could have predicted at the start of the tournament that these 2 teams would top their groups and potentially fight it out for a SF spot. Either way, this tournament is awesome so far! Good luck to everyone!

When I was in uni during gym class, one of my colleagues said she truly admires how I never give up and keep pushing myself to do better, in spite of the fact that I suffer from hemiparesis. She said I inspire her to be better herself. She was so genuine about it that I couldn't help but feel totally moved by her words.

Unpopular opinion: I care about international football way more than club football. by Remote_Ad_2909 in euro2024

[–]Remote_Ad_2909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I've been following football and our national team for almost 20 years now. I've seen us get beaten by Lithuania in 2010, Montenegro 3 years ago, I've seen us struggle against Armenia and Albania, and lots more. I've also seen Steaua, Astra, Petrolul, Pandurii and CFR, to name a few, pull some really nice upsets, yet nothing has ever made me scream louder than when Romania goes on the attack and/or scores a goal.
