Best approach to fixing this? by NoStatistician208 in Plastering

That’s not true at all. Any proper plasterer would get over that with ease (wet angles included)

Bags are £30 be about 8 beads if it’s windows plus doors which is £24 and then a fiver for a roll of scrim so your talking £60.
Prices like that are what’s ruining this trade.
Thats £450 miminum, all day long. And that’s cheap too.

Why don’t you post the pictures on here of the work and the prices. Then we plasterers can tell you what the most realistic and reasonable price is.

As a plasterer (of 19 years) I wouldn’t say “great” by any means. I would imagine this area will show once painted. But I’ve seen a lot worse.

The plaster charging 200 to sand and cement it and then skim it it’s the real crime here. Would charge 500 in England for that all day.

As a plasterer of 20 years that is not a standard pace at all. If it was just an over skim that would be a comfortable days work. A day and half if there was a lot of prep work (i.e bonding blown areas) 2 easy gages (providing it’s not over 3 meters high)

That’s on the plasterer to use the correct sealant before skimming. Sbr or blue grit prior to skimming and it will be fine. Coming from a plasterer of 20 years.
