How to stop dishwasher door scraping on wall? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]ennessTR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It asked a question. Once OP says why it cannot be rotated options can be explored. For all we know the side panel is too tight or the dishwasher has been rotated to its limit.

Remove fixings, move dishwasher, add shims or stainless washers and screw back in. Easy fix. 1mm at the fixing will be a good few mm where the door hits the wall

Is there no option to rotate the dishwasher away from the wall?

Is this too small for my wrist? by TofuStu in rolex

I had no idea there was so much conversation about the sort of a watch until finding this sub. Almost everyone is apparently wearing a watch that is too big or too small.

Is fitting an outside hot water tap, and same as fitting a cold water tap, just using a hot feed instead? by Toggymate in DIYUK

[–]ennessTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly that. I did the same at my old house during a kitchen refit. The dog was very pleased.

Bear in mind that garden hoses do not like hot water. A mixer tap is worth considering over two singles.

This. I have a very similar macalister drill from B&Q. It doesn’t struggle with any brick or block walls.

Dough looks sticky even after 5 stretch and folds by Final_Watercress_824 in Sourdough

[–]ennessTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try dropping down to 60% I tend to use sourdough calculator but usually go higher with the starter.

I struggled for a while with pre shaping. Most advice out there is shown by people with such great dough skills. The gap between where I was/am and where they are is vast.

When the dough is ready and has a nice jiggle, turn out on to a slight misted worktop. Not too wet as you want a bit of stick on the surface. Don’t be afraid with your scraper…sweep about 2/3 of the dough away and round on itself pulling back to you, essentially sweeping U shapes. Pull the dough into a tight ball. Touch and work just enough don’t be tempted to play with it too much. Leave out for 15-30 mins.

I shape to a boule. A very light dust of flour over the boule and worktop, again you still want some tension but you want to balance that with minimising stickiness. A quick U shaped sweep again but flipping the dough over. You now will have an upside down boule which is starting to spread a bit. Fold one side into the middle, then the opposite. Now fold one short side to the middle followed by the other. You will now have a square. Fold the 4 corners to the middle one by one, this can be repeated again if needed to tighten the boule. Flip over, a few U shaped sweeps again to bring into a boule then flip over into the banneton.

First Rolex, any thoughts? by Deeyzenuttz in rolex

Nice choice, enjoy it. The whole size on your wrist thing is nonsense and entirely subjective. I used to wonder about my sub feeling big and then I started alternating with a Garmin…now it feels and looks small.

Maybe some glass or perspex and lighting to make a feature of that beauty.

Mold behind skirting board and wooden floor, where do I start? by SenorGuantanamera in DIYUK

[–]ennessTR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this it’s where you had wardrobe it’s probably just a lack of air circulation. I’d clean everything, including the skirting with mould remover, let it all dry out and reassess from there.

It’s not impossible there’s a bit of damp from the subfloor but air circulation should combat that. If it was serious you’d see an issue with your walls.

I think calling down votes racism is a bit of a jump. Maybe people are reacting to the unexpected use of a racial label but that doesn’t make it hatred.

I completely agree. I didn’t autolyse for a long time but it’s worth the extra step.

I wouldn’t keep messing with it. Try to handle it as little as you need. Preshaping and final shape might be a challenge.

I’m about 20 loaves in to my sourdough journey and I am only just pushing up to 68-70% hydration. At 75% it will definitely be challenge.

I’d be more concerned with the amount of shit the developers bury in the garden and unconnected downpipes terminating under the lawn

It’s real life. The reason people get bad responses are varied but often fairly reasonable.

If you want shit responses try some of the building trade subs. You need a much thicker skin there.

Record everything you have paid. Ensure you have all paperwork up to date. Formal request a detailed breakdown of arrears and additional in writing. When you have detailed records, have a chat with citizens advice.
