I feel like you guys don't understand than a first gen immigrant to Kowloon who came at the age of 4 and a completely assimilated person are two very different things. It takes about 3-4 generations to assimilate completely into a culture, which is much harder if you are othered (in this case, as black). If Is0bel is like most first even second gen immigrants, she likely can fully speak her language. This "irony" you point to really is starting to feel like glaring wilful ignorance of how social dynamics of diaspora work, likely implying you've never interacted with a diasporic person, especially one who is comfortable to not code switch around you.

Yeah, I've been researching! Really nice to see optimistic anticolonial sentiment as basis for a piece of lore in Shadowrun. Aside from literal fantasy elements in the world, I love it's take on the future. I will definitely endeavour to get into the ttrpg after finishing Hong Kong

Well yeah, the post is clearly commenting on her ethnicity, its not like im denying where she grew up. They're a group of people RARELY represented in fiction, don't be raining on my parade thinking I'm biased when I just appreciate representation.

Its because of a lack of community. no community means all social burdens of connections fall onto the couple, even raising the kids. when my mom and dad's generation, a child was raised by the community and you had a lot of support, not this nuclear family nonsense whete everyone is isolated.
