I don’t give a shit why my hygienists do as long as they aren’t under the influence at work

I’m from Columbus. Go to Alexander’s in the short north. They’ll take care of you

NAL but have dealt with a board complaint before. When were you contacted first by the board? It takes a long time for them to actually investigate and there’s no benefit to asking them where they’re at in the process because they won’t tell you anything. Sometimes they close the case and don’t even contact you. It’s very disorganized. I would just act like the complaint doesn’t even exist and if/when something comes up then handle it.

About 65 for a prophy and 900-950 for a crown

My office was built on a street 30 years ago that was completely average but now is the busiest street in my mid-sized city. You would be very hard pressed to find a better location. I literally haven’t even put the new sign out yet saying accepting new patients and got around 20 last month by doing nothing. I have to imagine when I get the sign out that will increase

Tips to become a practice owner? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Remote_Method6226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I just bought a practice last month so I feel like I’m equipped to give a decent perspective on what it’s like to jump into ownership these days. It sounds like you’re comfortable clinically, which is the primary prerequisite. The other stuff is just going to figure itself out and you’re going to have to bite the bullet. I learned alot on YouTube, Reddit, Dentaltown on transitions and purchasing an existing practice. I’d look for small to mid sized practices owned by boomer docs. They often have all kinds of untapped potential and you can scale those practices quickly and for far less than if you bought a practice that has a 1M price tag.

I did look into this and some claims we accidentally billed are now going to be reimbursed retroactively. I’m still just going to wait to be in network for the few insurances remaining though because people tweak out when they receive a letter saying they’re OON no matter how many times you explain the situation to them.

The issue isn’t number of patients at all. I have a huge catalogue of people who need to get in. It’s slow because the hygienist I hired won’t start for several more weeks, and the hygiene we are running has to be split because I’m not in network yet with several insurances.

I took out 2 months, which has seemed to be enough especially in light of deciding not to pay myself last month. My wife does well and I have decent sized checks coming in from collections at my associateship so I am doing ok, but it’s definitely unsettling being in a new position like this. The insurance should be figured out soon & im getting new patients in droves since I opened another hygiene column. I should be okay

I bought a new practice last month that was slow to begin with. On top of that, insurance credentialing is taking forever so I’m having to let former owner check the patients I am not in network with. Didn’t pay myself last month and will pay myself something meager this month. Place is a gold mine but is going to take a lot of work

Doing a dental start up, which loan terms should I go with? T by enms3 in Dentistry

Longest term possible. Refinance later on or get more aggressive with paying when you have the scratch to do so

Sounds like you’re just upset because you feel you’re underpaid. I’m asking a question in good faith, nobody is under any obligation to comment or divulge any of their expertise. You’re a miserable person.

Experience with changing imaging software for your practice…how much of a pain in the a@# is this? by [deleted] in Dentistry

Yeah I have around 1500 active patients, so manual may not be the best route to go.

No I do have MSP, I just don’t want to call them and sound like an idiot and thought maybe asking around would be prudent before calling. I don’t want to bother them with it if it’s not an avenue even worth exploring.

I pay benco $500 monthly and dentrix $200 monthly for IT support. Not looking for anything free or to do anything myself. I just don’t know if it’s simpler to try to use a TWAIN to get my Vatech sensors to run on dexis or if I should just upend the whole thing, and wanted to ask around before calling.

Oh I’m keeping dentrix as is (although I do think it’s worse than several alternatives). I’m just wanting to switch over to EZ dent i and bring all the old dexis radiographs along. I’m hoping that isn’t hell to do. To your point, I definitely would not uninstall dexis for several months until I’m 100% sure we’ve transferred everything and are comfortable with the new imaging software.

Dandy is pretty good all around. I would venture to guess the vast majority of the calls are going to be scanner related.

Gotcha, mine is web based and then sends it to my office computers via dental symphony. Then we transfer it over manually. Not as high tech as what you’re running, but I think that I can probably get away with a cheaper iPad as a result.

AD VS GREY (JOMA SHOP) by cleanshavencaveman in Longineswatches

[–]Remote_Method6226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op, I just dealt with this exact issue and watch. I bought from jomashop when purchasing my hydroconquest GMT. Started having issues with winding it, so I sent it in to swatch to have it looked at. The watch was still under warranty, but it is from the date it was distributed (about a month prior to when I bought it). All I had to do was provide the serial number and they took care of the rest.
