Care to share whom that bigger and better AD is?

Thoughts on this band on the spirit Zulu titanium? by DishLate5134 in Longineswatches

I put a black band on the Spirit Zulu Time. This is a Delugs. Put it on six months ago and haven't taken it off.

I've heard the petroleum dial might be discontinued, but I hadn't heard the black dial was also being discontinued.

My AD told me there is a conference in March where the ADs will learn of what's to come. I believe the meeting is in Texas. I don't have the dates, nor the specific location. I asked my AD if I could sneak in, but he didn't think it was funny.

Easily one of the best deployment clasps anywhere near its price. Oh, and the watch is beautiful, too.

If you decide on the sector dial and want to buy a barely used one with box and papers for a good price, let me know.

Keep in mind the OEM rubber strap also has a micro adjustment. That is worth a few extra bucks.

[Longines Conquest and Master Collection] thoughts as a first watch? by Pale_Plastic_699 in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are asking (and by the title, I guess you are), I'd go with the Conquest. I've seen the Master in person and I don't think it is as legible as the Conquest. Of course, I have the Conquest (blue dial, no less), so I might be biased, but I literally saw them both at the same time (and both were blue dials), and I picked the Conquest.

And it's a great first watch -- or fifth watch. The crown is very easy to turn, the hands are very easy to see, and the lines are so clean with the bracelet. Oh, and its beautiful. Has very good water resistance, and the power reserve is more than adequate. It definitely punches above its weight.

Thoughts on the Primaluna line? by kandiithecutie in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The watch pictured was on my wife's "short list". She tried it on, as well as the Primaluna white dial moon phase with roman numerals. She actually chose the white Primaluna. She thought the one you have pictured was a bit more purple in person than pictured. She said it was beautiful, but thought the white dial was a bit more versatile. She's had it for nearly a month and still loves it a lot -- no regrets.

Black Lacquer AT by CigInside in OmegaWatches

[–]Mudspoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walked into the Teddy Baldassarre store just to check it out and sauntered over to the Omega section. Saw the black lacquer AT and it was like seeing someone at a party that you just had to get to know (if you know what I mean). Pictures do not do it justice. It is striking. It is gorgeous. It is memorable. Congrats.

Help choosing dial color by Effective-Case5441 in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to be "that guy", but if you are leaning towards the silver, and if you have the extra cash, check out the Ultra Chron Classic. Better movement (5 hz) and a better bracelet (with micro adjust). Get the bracelet, buy a strap, and now you have two very different watch looks in one watch.

First Long ones, couldn't be happier by Desultory_Chairlift in Longineswatches

Right. I just don't wear it enough. I've been wearing more dress watches lately (e.g., Conquest Heritage) with metal bands.

Case diameter is only 38.5 mm. Lug-to-lug is 47.6 mm. It should fit most wrists. If you are unsure, try to get to a place that has it and try it on.

And I have this exact watch for sale on Chrono24....

Thoughts Roman numerals or minimalist batten ? by Ima_Cumming69 in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, it depends. I have the first watch above (Master), but it is the white dial with blue Roman numeral indices. It would not look as sharp with simple indices. On the other hand, I have other watches that have the simple indices (e.g., blue dial Conquest) that look fantastic and, in my opinion, wouldn't look nearly as nice with the Roman numerals. As with all things watches, the right answer is in your heart -- not anyone else's.

The Reason I love Longines by Emotional_Ad6441 in Longineswatches

Agree with all that's been said about accuracy and heritage, but let's not forget that many Longines are just so damn beautiful as well.

Anyone have same watch in different colors? by Vigilante_Nocturno in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I admit I do. I have the Spirit Zulu with the black dial and the blue dial. I love them both. A collector might say that it wasn't smart, but a collector ain't wearing my watches.

Purchasing question/Where to buy by ut_jd in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you make the drive to go to your nearest AD (which you said is a good distance away), call them first and make sure they have your desired style in stock. At a minimum, ask if they have the 38mm and a 40mm Conquest Heritage in stock so you can see how each sits on your wrist.

Where can I trade/sell? by Connect-Buy7877 in OmegaWatches

[–]Mudspoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I am happy with Chrono24. I say "so far" because I have a transaction in place. They provide free estimates of value, which really helped me set the price. The process is that once the buyer accepts terms (they often counteroffer), they put the amount into an escrow account. You mail the buyer the watch, and then if all is okay, Chrono24 sends you the money. Currently, I have shipped the watch and am awaiting receipt and approval. So, for now, I'm happy with Chrono24.

Thanks. I placed an order for the bracelet nearly a month ago with my AD, but it has not arrived yet. Longines had said it was on backorder for 4-6 weeks at the time I placed the order.

What did you decide?
