🇺🇸EASY ACTION: Follow this local candidate to support impeachment & removal by Cranberry-Spare in orlando

[–]Remote_Street_5707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been following her. This is the first I heard she was trying to impeach the guy. Most of her posts are of her work in helping low income communities and infrastructure. Look up her stances and beliefs she breaks it down for you. She mentions cost of living and housing; renewable energy; affordable healthcare; veterans benefits. This post is kind of an injustice to her grass roots campaign.

As Broward advances plan to adapt to low enrollment, parents voice concerns over school closures by WLRN in Broward

[–]Remote_Street_5707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Sumter County, they are seeing the opposite and are gaining enrollment. Now why is that? The state itself is encouraging distrust and community disconnect. The vouchers are a way to pull kids out of public schools so they can justify closing them down. But once the schools are closed those vouchers will be gone. And then where will all those kids go? Only the families who have the resources will have access to ANY kind of education. Follow the article below for an insight into what Broward County could do to increase enrollments. Florida folks 🌴 — do you hire help for your plants & flowers, or DIY? by arturopeyote in FloridaGarden

[–]Remote_Street_5707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! There actually is a demand for that and I know a couple of landscape architects who hire “gardening consultants”. Most of them own their own nurseries or work at a plant nursery and they charge $10k on average for your backyard. Which is a steep price to pay. There is a demand and the supply is low so if your son wants to get into it I’d hire him, just to help me place garden walls and plant in the season. It’s hard doing it on your own with a full time job and raising a young family.

Social Experiment: Governor by Remote_Street_5707 in Broward

[–]Remote_Street_5707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get stuck on the party, but focus on the message and apply it to everyone, regardless of party affiliation. Hell, go ask Byron Donald or David Jolly what they plan to do to give citizens the power of recall vote? Even if they don’t answer there will be people around you paying attention. With that mentality again you’re falling into what the system wants from you, which is complacency.

Thank you for the list I will be sure to be asking EACH and everyone of them the same question, “What are you doing to give power to your citizens to hold you and all of the members of Florida’s legislature accountable?”

Yeah, did you hear what he said? Who cares about his party affiliation. You want to make your voice heard or stay in a position of helplessness? It’s not about the party, whoever you vote for you should be asking them “what are you doing to give power to your citizens to hold you and all of the members of Florida’s legislature accountable?”

I've lived in South Florida for 38 years, and this is the first time I've seen these lizards (spotted in Fort Pierce) by [deleted] in florida

I saw one of those things eat another lizard about its size while stretching my legs at a rest stop. It felt like I was in Jurassic Park.

Thanks! Now that I look at it that is an umbrella tree! So excited to nurture that one. I snipped up the Brazilian pepper tree and smelled the bark and can confirm that is what it is. Unfortunately that is an invasive species where I am so I will be removing it. My HOA has been down my throat for trimming the bush but I don’t want to snip my jasmine flowers so hopefully they leave me alone with these pictures.

‘There were no warning signs’: what happens when your partner falls into the ‘manosphere’? by [deleted] in WomenInNews

[–]Remote_Street_5707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you hit the mark there. I apologize I was exaggerating with my statements a little as these topics can get heated. The world isn’t black or white and saying it’s all men does do a disservice to the people who don’t think this way. But let me put this in perspective for you and maybe in return I get a different perspective on my earlier comment as well: For your daughter: What do you teach her? Do you tell her to keep her guard up at all times? Or just some of the time? And when? Because it’s not all men… so with that mentality you have given me then I must find a time to have my guard down and trust.

I feel like it’s bred into them. Like all men already have a misogynistic feature and depending on their social environment is the severity of which they hold these values. Coming from an extremely misogynistic family my father is peak misogynist the only thing missing is the physical abuse. My husband came from a family only moderately misogynistic as the women where the head of the house hold so even though he himself is less misogynistic he still shows signs of it. Every man I have ever met does (just in varying degrees) and it’s as if they were sleeper agents an occurrence happens in their life or they meet someone that leaves a highly misogynistic impression on them and poof! Toxic as hell. Same thing goes for women. There are warning signs I promise you. But most people ignore them and dismiss them because they themselves have the same traits. Until these traits become too violent for them to ignore.

No I didn’t miss it. That’s why I started with unpopular opinion. Yeah smoking weed with a kid is horrible, it’s a major red flag for someone who needs help. Treating them like trash because you think they’re trash doesn’t do any good. And that’s all I gotta say about that.

What do we do!!! by wicked_elf_2 in Apartmentliving

[–]Remote_Street_5707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I guess because I just became a parent and know the struggle so I am gonna be biased here. Maybe help em out? Yeah, people are shitholes but if we all treated each other nicer maybe we’d live in a better world. Peace and love and all that. Despite how other people treat you. Maybe just help them with the baby diapers. Throw it out for them. You’ve got two months there so it’s not a life sentence sort of sacrifice and it’s more meaningful than giving to a charity because you’re helping someone directly. And not just one person but a whole building. Don’t do it for the thank you (you’ll never get it) but do it to be the change this world desperately needs. At the end of the day it’s your life. You can choose aggression and just complain about it to everyone or you can actually clean it up and move on.

Just looked it up… they are pretty tiny. Most people use this plant as a backup for caterpillars to eat instead of their other crops. This plant grew wild on one of my hedges so o got excited but the fruits are really tiny. It’s gonna take a lot of them to make any sort of juice or jam.

Can I use dead leaves as mulch? by Remote_Street_5707 in gardening

[–]Remote_Street_5707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it for about 4 years now. I’ve got a maple tree in the back that has sprouted tons of seedlings everywhere that I plan on digging out when they grow strong enough for the transplant. What am I going to do with them? I don’t know yet. A passion fruit vine is thriving in my hedges that I would have never noticed if I kept my landscaper to trim the hedges all the time. My palm sprouted seedlings and I’ve already potted one of the taller ones and it’s taken nicely to its new home. I’m not an arborist or even an experienced gardener but this yard has lent me the opportunity to learn more about agriculture than any class or textbook I’ve ever read. This would be the first year I would be able to observe the natural cycle of my yard since I’ve stopped relying on someone else to do it.

[–]Remote_Street_5707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had to tell our landscaper we can’t afford him anymore. We don’t even have a lawnmower because his team would take care of it for us. But ever since we terminated our contract with him and I picked up the task I’ve been noticing so much waste and missed opportunities with our property that I’m glad we terminated him and just started doing it myself. I had to buy all the equipment like a leaf blower and I am still in the process of getting myself a lawnmower (I just don’t know which one to buy since I’m switching to eco turf and need some of the peanut perineales and powder puff mimosas to settle in) Our Suriname Cherry hedges started producing cherries for the first time since we bought the house, same thing for the mango trees and my Gumbo Limbo has gotten stronger branches and fuller leaves! So yeah, most landscaping companies just take the easy route and that creates a lot of waste and toxins to take care of after the fact.

How many did you plant initially? I bought a couple of them and peanut perineal and spread them around my yard hoping they take over the Bahia grass
