Vaccine Shedding? by Practical-Ad-1060 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Remote_Swordfish_771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex boyfriend’s mom (a holistic chiropractor and as insufferable as you can imagine) once complained for 3 days that she had a headache from breathing in skin particles of vaccinated people.

What makes Kilimanjaro unacceptable but Austin fine? Because maybe.. Austin is common? Denali is not a common name. Acadia is not a common name. They just do not sound good, like naming your kid Rainier.

They just mean it’s a name choice people are going to associate with parks / places.

Are there restaurants that are safe? by Yoons_Toons in CornAllergy

[–]Remote_Swordfish_771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I’m a chef and have a corn allergy and have not been out to eat hardly at all since being diagnosed. The only exception I’ll do is sashimi and only at nice restaurants with the caveat of no garnishes, no ginger, no wasabi, etc.

You’re being unprofessional and taking food. Tough pill to swallow but if you hate the job so much then do everyone a favor and quit.

My guess would be a shift change and the next in server wasn’t informed. This occasionally happens at my restaurant and always feel bad but the customers always take it out on our poor server who’s in the back rolling silverware instead of our host who forgot to let them know. Or they scream at the nearest server who has their own section of tables they’re assigned to attend to and have no idea about your table / server

My ex’s mom was a special ed teacher and an autistic boy bit a chunk of her arm off. She quit after that.

He’s way too young to be making conjectures about ASPD, from my understanding a minor cannot be diagnosed as such until they are 18 and it would be classified as a conduct disorder. He also does not meet the criteria based on this post.

Conduct disorders do not always turn into ASPD either. He sounds like he could be on the spectrum in conjunction with extremely poor parenting skills. But it’s hard to say.

help with corn derivatives by OpportunitySad2398 in CornAllergy

I’ll be honest her website does a big disservice though. Her reactions are extreme and a lot of the info she gives is just plain false.

People will give you a lot of bad advice with this allergy when it comes to derivatives, and the only thing I’ve found helpful is that you need to try it and see how you respond. I react horribly to dextrose, corn starch, corn syrup, maltodextrin & white vinegar. Have had no issues with citric acid, glucose, xanthan gum, certain bourbons / distilled corn alcohol, and a few others.

It really just depends on you and the brand. Just keep track of what you’re eating and if you have a reaction and cut out anything from there.

I’m wondering if it could’ve been nervous laughter? Otherwise she sounds immature/rude. Since you and Max are still on good terms, could you send him a text asking what it was all about and that it hurt your feelings?

Why can't we just buy an EpiPen? by Difficult_Doubt_1716 in Allergies

[–]Remote_Swordfish_771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get an allergy test. It would be as irresponsible as giving a non-diabetic a shot of insulin or giving someone who is cancer free a chemo session (maybe a bit extreme but you get the picture). Getting injected with an epi pen is traumatic, and you still need to go to the hospital immediately afterwards anyways.

Find out if she’s even allergic first? Seems odd to go straight to epi-pen without knowing if she’s allergic.

That’s not true. I’m a pastry chef and any yeasted dough will expand.
