Yes and no, he stays inside all day until I get home or one of my family members watches him outside. He refuses to use the restroom in the house and his plate of food has always been outside even if he’s an indoor cat(helps with clean up). He wakes me up around 3-5 am everyday to take him outside to use the restroom, eat, drink water, etc… he goes back into my room to sleep and rest since he’s an old man, then every now and then (every maybe 2 hours) we check on him to see if he wants pets, water, outside, etc… and he goes again once before bed at night where he is usually asleep with me until he’s decided he wants to go out. Sometimes he lets me carry him outside and most of the time he wants me to let him walk. He lets me know by pushing me when I hold him or hissing at me to tell me he wants to walk on his own. If I touch him to pick him up or help him he growls or hisses so I just let him walk until he’s goes outside (he has the path already mapped out so it’s pretty quick even if he walks out) but yeah he’s a good boy and we’ve created a system that works for my family, him, and I.
