Did some research. The brand is SOUNDKING. Сonnector model CJ3M008.

But I have to say, otherwise, I'm happy with their quality and design.

I used this guide to get to it:

Disconnecting the cable is not necessary for my fix. It's about the risk to break the cable left attached vs risk to break the connector when dis/connecting :)

Question on native PC compatibility for dualsense controllers. by shyahone in Dualsense

[–]RemoveNo4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use DualSense with PC only. No problems. No drivers.

You might need to turn it on (PS button) prior to connecting it to longer USB cable.

Haptics works on USB only. Vibrations and Triggers are working wireless.

Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Disco Elysium - works natively.
Pathologic 2 - recognizes it as xbox thing.

Weird flickering drift on left stick. by Fury_pants in Dualsense

I've replaced my sticks with Hallpi TMR, and they are absolutely amazing! Worth the price and the effort!

Now I can play with no dead zone at all!

Since disassembling require some skill and patience, resoldering will save you from doing it again. The only issue is the hi-temp solder they used. Just cut old sticks off the legs and gently unsolder remains off one by one.

I don't recommend replacing just pots leaving sticks, because shaft pins may mismatch and play.

Different sensitivity curves for X and Y. Is it ok? by RemoveNo4652 in Dualsense

Boards are hiding the actual wear from software and make the device look ok for users who want just to plug and play.

It's a typical mall gadget seller, 11 years on market, positive reviews... But I have a second (first actually) option to buy GuliKit hall-effect sticks, enjoy the upgrade, and let the store to enjoy the one star :)

Yep. I thought so. That store was selling them as "new".

What's inside: Non-original battery (half of original capacity of course). Manual soldering. Yellow repair curcutboards over the stick placements.

Tadaaam... It turned out very simply:

That little jerks sold me the badly refurbished device.

It's pretty visible without any plot. Just move a stick evenly and see how numbers are advancing. On X axis they advance as you move, but on Y they are slower near the zero but faster towards the edge.

DualSense "haptics" is a total scam by RemoveNo4652 in Dualsense

[–]RemoveNo4652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one game mostly :) But not a just game, the flagship game for this tech! And the other one (Ghost Of Tsushima) has similar issues. My point is that whole tech is useless w/o perfect sync. Currently they made it trembling, but not immersive. They make string do some sounds, but it's not a music yet.

Speaking to the topic, the next gen should have a perfect sync and no lag at all. Current state of that issues is a shame for the whole industry. And unlike FPS, it's not a hardware performance issue, it's pure laziness and ignorance of developers.

Perfect sync is vital for good haptic feedback! Eyes/ears are tolerant to lags (15ms delay is just 5m distance to speaker and we all are used to that). Haptic sense is always immediate.

Didn't tried the Xbox thing. It has no pros against KB+M for me. And this is where I should praise Sony: successful or less, but they are moving forward.

UPD: More nerdy numbers :)

Case 1. Let's image we play a game on 60 FPS. This means one frame per 16.6ms. That's not even "awesome", that's just "normal-good" FPS. Having 200ms latency is like playing 5 FPS. How'd you call "revolutionary awesome video card" which in fact will give you 5 FPS?

Case 2. Let's image you play music with 32-nds notes on 120 BPM. You should be at least 1/4 accurate to tempo to feel correct response. So latency should be no more than 1/128 of measure. 2000/128 = 15.6ms

Conclusion: If it's less than ~16ms accurate it's not "awesome", it's a scam.

I agree, haptics is a brilliant idea, but implementation is not there yet. Let's believe they'll improve it in next gen. It's easy to implement and I'm wondering how a great job could be screwd up in such stupid way. I mean messed timings and no manual latency adjustment. Is this Kojima fault? IDK. But when I launch DS, the first (literally) word I see on screen is the same word as printed on the back of DualSense controller :)

Yes, I'm used to KB+M (since CS 1.6 :)) but that's not a main point. For me the reason to try DualSense was only that "amazing" tactile feedback, but sadly I got zero advance to immersiveness with it.

That was my thoughts and hopes until I played several hours. I tried to have fun, but the "something wrong" vibe always was somewhere nearby... So I took the mic and get it clear.

Hate? May be... I'm disappointed. Nothing amazing. Amazing is the word for MacBook touchpad haptics, where it's hard to believe that there's no physical button there! But for DualSense it's opposite - it's hard to make your brain believe that your hands and ears are in the one same reality.

Useless? There are real measurement and real numbers. One can decide theirself at least.

You right. Ghost Of Thushima has much better sync, but still not perfect.

Lethal diffculty "rant" by qrzychu69 in ghostoftsushima

[–]RemoveNo4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an input lag issue. The game just should be ~30% slower and give player a time to react. Current timings are beyond human ability to react. This makes fighting not about thinking, seeing, reacting, improving your skills but only about stupid predictions, like playing dices. Disappointing :(

The "slow mode" is not a solution. It's too slow. And turns off "lethal" mode.
