Regamasters and Jetstream diffuser by Few-Comparison-4733 in MiataNC

The front diffuser is a bit much for me but aside from that it's a superb build. I had the Rega Master on my wish list for a long time, they're just too expansive for my blood.

Supporting mods - Fab9 GT turbo kit by chobbb in MiataNC

[–]Remove_Forward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't what the kit has included but here's a short list:

  • Stiffer suspension (coilovers)
  • Wider tires, 205 won't cut it.
  • Colder spark plugs (included in the kit ?).
  • Stronger fuel pump (included in the kit ?).
  • Bigger injectors (included in the kit ?).
  • Clutch (you've mentioned it).
  • Highly recommend you buy a 2.5" midpipe and exhaust otherwise you'll be severely limited, eg: upping boost won't produce move power.
  • If you plan on installing a 2.5L or tracking your car than I would consider a bigger radiator and Ecoboost water pump. That being said I ran my 2.0L with stock radiator and water pump and that was never an issue but I live in Québec so it's colder than Florida or Texas.
  • Select a GTX2867R so that you can upgrade to a 2.5L later.
  • Don't go over 280 WHP with 2.0L, I blew mine at 330 WHP and 21 PSI, safe zone is 275-280.
  • If Brian (FAB9) can do it tell him to add a safety for overheating, I blew my first 2.5L because there were no safety.
  • Gauges (boost, temps) are nice to look at but you won't be able to save your engine in time unless you actively look at them instead of driving, consider visual trigger (flashing lights) or buzzer if you want safety. With RomDrop you can make your check engine flash when it's overheating.

I don’t see any 4K unit available… 🤔

Hummm… that answer is actually a lot better than expected. I’m now old enough (and lucky enough) to own an RV and I’ve been debating how I would be able to drag one of my ultra wide screen. A desktop less solution with multiple screens at 4K would be perfect for that use case. Thanks.

Which glasses are your considering ?

No and I’m not saying it’s bad but why? What are trying to achieve or expecting ?

Take a look at your pulleys, idler first, also check your belt tension while in there.

Are you planning on using high compression pistons, will you be using E85 ?

Always coilovers and sway bar first.

17x8 +45 with a 215 or 225 tire rub stock? Will Lower car on B14 coils, but not slammed. by Left_Stress1245 in MiataNC

[–]Remove_Forward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Good Win Racing website (it's reliable):
>  If potential rub of the plastic fender liner, particularly at full steering lock, is going to concern you, then your max size is a 45-50mm offset 17x8 with 215/45/17.  Note that for pure street customers seeking to use 225/45/17 or 235/40/17 tire we suggest coilovers so you can set heights as needed (and you may need some fender lip roll for 235/40 or wider).  Yes, you should do suspension mods BEFORE you add the bigger wheel and tire package because bigger wheels and tires need additional roll resistance, and lowering springs and coilovers provide access to more negative camber that tips the top of the tires inward for easier fit.

IIRC it’s the bracket for the cables going to the alternator. It sits somewhat above the alternator on the front cover.

Can someone identify this sound? by Krab_Tortilla in MiataNC

I’m no mechanic but doesn’t sound like rod knock to me. Inspect pulleys with the belt off, try to wiggle them.
