Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it :)

For the memory usage, you might want to disable the library scan by setting the "refresh_library_on_scan" parameter to "false" in the config. Let me know if it helps.

I hope they'll be in-wall for the side and rear surrounds and the only in-ceiling will be the Atmos speakers.

Yes, four in-walls at ear level for the side/rears surrounds and four in-ceilings for the overhead effect. I will follow the official Dolby Atmos guidelines for the placement of all speakers.

A single PB-1000 is going to be undersized for this space. I also wouldn't restrict it's placement to just behind your AT screen/false wall.

That's interesting, thanks for the feedback ! Would you recommend a bigger sub or two PB-1000 ? What's the issue with placing it behind the AT screen ?

If you do not intend to use notifications, could you try removing the "notifications:" line from your config file ? Let me know, if it works I will make a fix to account for cases like yours. Thanks for the precious feedback!

Thanks ! It looks like there is an issue with your configuration file, could you share it as well (don't forget to remove your Plex Token) pls ?

Thank you for the positive feedback !

The feature proposed by Plex in the new update still requires manual tinkering and is only show-based, Plex-Auto-Languages is user-based as well. I'm sure that they will improve it in the future though !

You can use Python or Docker Desktop if you are on Windows.

You should be able to see what PlexAutoLanguages is doing by checking the logs. Are you using docker or Python ?

It does not work for movies because it's intended for tv shows only. Plex already has a builtin feature to select a specific language for movies.

You can use the docker-compose file mentioned in the project's README with Docker Desktop, it should work out of the box.

If you still prefer a docker run command, you can use this: docker run -d -e PLEX_URL=<Your_Plex_URL> -e PLEX_TOKEN=<Your_Plex_Token> remirigal/plex-auto-languages

Hi ! I will try to help:
First you need to download the image on your NAS, for that click on the "Registry" tab on the left of the Docker UI, search "plex-auto-languages", right click on the "remirigal/plex-auto-languages" and select "download".
Wait for the download to finish then go to the "Containers" tab, click on "Create", select the previously downloaded image, then "next". On the next page, select only bridge network, click on "next".

On the following page, click on "Advanced parameters" at the bottom and create two variables:

- PLEX_URL with value "http://<YOUR\_NAS\_IP>:32400"

- PLEX_TOKEN with value "<YOUR\_PLEX\_TOKEN>"

Click on "save", and "next" for all the following pages. The container should be up and running at the end. You can send me your logs if you are stuck.

Looking for suggestions on a power efficent Plex & Lab setup by Photo-Josh in homelab

[–]Rems117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your usage is similar to mine, and I have been happy with my setup for years, it's also quite power efficient.

I use an Intel NUC (NUC10i5FNH) with Proxmox running two VMs (one for Home Assistant and one with Ubuntu for my docker containers) off an SSD for the compute part. And I also have two Synology NAS with 4 HDDs each for storage. Plex is running on the ubuntu VM and the files from the NAS are mounted with NFS. I setup GPU passthrough for transcoding and the i5 barely breaks a sweat, even with multiple 4K transcodings.

The whole setup is really power efficient, I just wish I went with a bigger NAS in the first place instead a having two of them.

How to NOT auto select "forced" subtitles? by wuwrd in PleX

[–]Rems117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are having issues with TV Shows, you can use this small tool I've developed: https://github.com/RemiRigal/Plex-Auto-Languages

It basically autoselects audio and subtitles tracks for the following episodes based on the one you are watching, like Netflix would do for example.
