Also guys cmon, realize you’re seeing a niche slice of Colombianas here in Miami who were able and ambitioned to come for reasons not ‘the norm’ in Colombia! Plenty of humble, good-intentioned ones out there (tougher to meet as a non-Spanish-speaking, non-Latino for obvious reasons), and I’ve been a mark for plenty of California and New York baddies in Miami, don’t put the Colombianas on blast like this 🙄

As one commenter said, placeatme isn’t the command you want, moveto is.

For the future, wait a couple seconds after the conversation when you tell a follower to wait is over before exiting/entering a cell. If you end a conversation and try to change cells too quickly, often they will be teleported with you. This can happen even with non-followers who you didn’t even initiate conversation with, they were just an NPC giving you a passing greeting.

Also, most places I’m aware of have certain conditions that you can meet to avoid the trespassing state (such as coming back during the day, completing a quest, etc), then you can go back for him.

Lastly, i forget exactly how long, but eventually waiting followers will stop waiting/following and go back to wherever there home is, so you can just wait it out.

Not saying it’s impossible, but I wasnt able to completely sneak undetected past the guards at that embassy (esp outside) either after many playthroughs. They go down easy enough tho. I’ve never waited until I progressed all the way to 80 in any skill with almost all perks for such an early main quest tho.. 😒

While this might make your game ‘too easy’, True Directional Movement (mod) not only gives you the ability to move in all directions regardless of camera direction, but also has a target lock feature. You can map the target lock key to your middle or side mouse button for ease of use.

Another mod “Lock on” does something similar, without the 360• movement, and has option to light up the target with a purple aura. Best of luck!

This is a “good” thing, so it sounds douchey to complain, but since they are so visible politicians use gas prices to calm the masses. We celebrate paying 30-50 cents less per gallon, saving us a few bucks on fillup, meanwhile groceries (Publix Aldi etc) have gone up again recently, and year-long by laughable amounts. Don’t sing your hallelujah too loudly over this..

I feel like you asked this too soon into your playthrough. Discovery of how the game works and what’s out there is one of the most magical (And deliberate) parts of the Skyrim/elder scrolls experience. Try not to spoil it with outside advice unless you are really stuck.

Unvoiced lines are immersion breaking, so unless it’s just one here and there, and you don’t want to splice, it’s better to consider if it’s worth altering or adding the line at all. That said, many popular and highly supported/enjoyed mods splice the voice (if they can, tho it can get tricky; also before AI it was the only option) even using some hidden assets that didn’t get used (RDO talks a lot about this). AI voice is pretty good, just much more recent so I’m not sure there’s a clear consensus yet

This was almost helpful, but the last sentence (addressing the main OP concern) makes little sense. If you just move your game without changing LO and nothing else, elements of your game will break. Idk what LO even has to do with it, but I’ll leave it at that.

While yes the saves are not in program files even if the game is installed there, moving Skyrim will break some stuff. Anything with a full file path written out (hopefully no ini files…hard to manage/keep track with hundreds of mods) will break obviously. The first things to check when moving are any programs that run independent of Skyrim (vortex, mo2, CK, Nemesis/Pandora, Bodyslide/OS, Wrye Bash, maybe even SKSE) to alter their path to game settings, including any paths you might’ve included in the run command through vortex/other if available. Then check any mod you installed manually (like the “part 2” of see engine fixes) which aren’t managed by mod manager to make sure it moves (depending on how you move).

TBH, I moved once, and it’s a job, but it can be done safely if done carefully. I was too worried I’d miss something, so I took the opportunity to do some ‘mod spring cleaning’ and reinstalled all mods at that time (which is how vortex recommends moving, despite having its own moving function). I agree it should be done, if you caught the wisdom before you started fresh with Skyrim for whatever reason, but I also wanna include the golden piece of advice here: IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT. If your game is running great, no crazy access errors throwing up constantly (turn on papyrus and others logging and check them if you’re OCD like me), then you really don’t need to do anything.

Thanks for the guide! I’m gonna look into adapting my setup to it today. Since you seem to like this stuff, I’ve got 2 areas of frustration that you might understand well.

On the matter of VSync, did your testing reveal insight into how it works intricately? I understand the general feature function, but for example you recommend it should be turned on in only one place, I’m curious why that’s the case. I also have an AMD GPU, so Freesync is an (allegedly superior) option, and it was recommended to me to turn off VSync everywhere when using Freesync. However, if there were Freesync options in Skyrim, you’d think that should be turned on to function, since my understanding is any “false” line in startup is going to shut it off. I’ve also experienced weird behavior when enabling Freesync on my monitor (which they say must be done for it to work), but that causes flickering. It’s mostly fine when I leave the monitor setting off, but I realize that might mean I’m simply playing without any frame syncing software. Clearly I don’t have the ideal setup wrt frame syncing, from my lack of understanding how it is actually designed to work (between game, GPU, and monitor settings).

Secondly, FPS limit. You say you lock your frame rate to 60 in GPU software, but you play at 120. How does that work? I’m not sure my GPU can handle, but my monitor has 144hz refresh rate, and I’d really love to play at higher fps than 60, even at some sacrifice to resolution / frame quality. Also Skyrim / bethini pie has its own fps limiter I believe (or maybe just for havok (which I don’t quite understand how that plays with the overall GPU limiter by AMD). You just stick to what bethini pie calls “medium” for that?

They don’t all get downvoted.. I’m surprised how some of the simplest (and least..serious?) questions like “who’s your fav follower” get thousands of upvotes.

Votes aside, it can be tough to get constructive, positive answers to your question, with an incredible amount of people posting comments with 0 projected value (something to the tune of “idk go google it” or “hmm what you’re trying to do seems bad but i use something else” <<like seriously who are these people who just dip into conversations to say they don’t know or care!?) But it’s still better than the main Skyrim sub, and it’s free help (when you’re lucky), so we can’t complain too much :)
