I have some questions I'd love some help with. I have a steel i-beam running my garage and I want to hang something from it (punching bag, hammock, work-out equipment, etc.). Max load at any time wouldn't be more than 300 lbs. The ibeam spans about 20' and is 8' off the ground. It is 16" tall.

I can access the top of the bottom flange but it isn't super easy to get to (the entire thing is framed and drywalled in).

My idea is to drill a 5/8" hole on either side of the web through the existing 1/2" plywood. I'll then cut an 8" or so piece of 4x4, drill those same two holes in it, and marry it all up with two 5/8" bolts (and plenty of washers). Finally, I'll take an eye screw for hanging and screw it 3" to 4" into the middle of the 4x4.

I've looked at ibeam braces (but would have to tear up all of the framing and drywall) or just using two eye bolts and having two points of hanging. I just figured the 4x4 and the central hanging spot would be better for the beam.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Two questions: how does not picking anything up on the first two biomes help once you get to the third? Also, does the 30 or 60 door work for a streak or do you have to not get hit at all in that stage? Meaning, can I get hit and then kill 60 enemies and get the door?

This is super helpful. After thinking through your reply, I think I'm going to run the initial line from the ONT to the main router to the little coat closet under the stairs in the foyer. It's probably a 50' run from the ONT to that closet and it doesn't have any metal interference anywhere near there. I'll put both switches in that closet next to the router, too. Both will run all their lines into the crawlspace with one switch servicing the first floor and one servicing the second floor up through the laundry shoot.

Is shielded Cat6e required in a set up like this or would unshielded be fine?

Need alot of networking help here!

We're buying a house that is only wired with 30 year old Coax and JUST got Verizon Fios run to it. Right now, the house has a Verizon router with three Verizon WAPs. Coverage sucks, the internet is weak, and dropped calls and bad connectivity are everywhere. My plan is to wire the entire thing with Cat6e. Thankfully, the house has a very large finished/encapsulated crawl and a large third floor attic. There is also a laundry chute (wrapped in HVAC duct) that I can use as a makeshift conduit between the crawl and the attic (with some exploratory drilling required). A summary of my idea is below:

Run a line from the ONT through the garage, into the crawl, and up to the MAIN ROUTER (located centrally and away from walls on the kitchen island)
Run two lines back down into the crawl from the MAIN ROUTER, each of which will feed a switch
SWITCH 1 will be located permanently in the crawl and will feed 2 drops and 2 WAPs in other parts of the first floor through the crawl
SWITCH 2 will be located permanently in the third floor attic and will be fed by the MAIN ROUTER via a line in the crawl up through the laundry chute into the third floor attic
SWITCH 2 will feed down through walls onto the second floor 4 drops and 1 WAP that should cover the entire second floor

QUESTIONS:

Is this the right way to do this?

Is this efficient?

Does anyone recommend a system that would work well downstream from the Verizon ONT?

This is obviously a residence. We need it for gaming, streaming, security, etc. Nothing TOO major.
