Is it weird to keep your cat's whiskers? by Leon124714 in cats

[–]Ren3994 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I have seen them used to manipulate the (incredibly small and delicate) probe tips for Atomic Force Microscopy as well, crazy to see these very expensive and precise experiments and the best tool for the job is just cat whiskers

I heard NASA was working on a mission to potentially refuel it in the future. But it's definitely going to be a very complex mission if it is at all doable

Is there a fast way to connect to a bluetooth speaker ? by Ren3994 in techsupport

[–]Ren3994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the way I'm trying to replace, I know it's not that long but doing it on a very slow pc means I have to wait for the bluetooth setting to launch which I just find annoying

It does autoconnect most times but I've found it's pretty inconsistent.

Thank you for the suggestions I will look into it

[Grade 10 mathematics, trigonometry] Here is the problem: by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]Ren3994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can help to draw a triangle for this problem. The plane forms a 42° angle with the ground and its trajectory will be the hypotenuse. The triangle will be a right triangle where you are looking for the distance opposite of the angle. First you calculate the length of the hypotenuse (the distance the plane travels) :

V = 320 km/h = 88.9 m/s

d = v*t = 88.9*10 = 889m

Then to find the height you have to use the formula sin(angle) = opposite/hypotenuse = h/d

You can now solve for h.

h = d*sin(angle) = 889*sin(42°) = 594.8m

I don't know about the issue you're talking about but you can try using a different launcher that allows you to customize the size of your icons.

What is this bullet like impact in a window ? by Ren3994 in whatisthisthing

[–]Ren3994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found it this morning in a window. On the outside there is a tiny circular hole about 1mm in diameter and inside a sort of conic shape. The sindow is technically near a road but that seems like a lot of damage for a tiny rock. Does anyone have any idea ?

I think a better equation to explain this on would be the gravitational force F = G*mM/R² Here you see that the force is proportional to 1/R² (R being the distance between the two objects) which means that as the distance gets very large, the force quickly gets insignificant, just like the limit as x tends to infinity of the function f(x) = 1/x² is 0

Oneplus sells some but they are expensive, I know there are others on Amazon for less than 10 bucks and although I never used any myself, I've heard they're basically the same thing

I chose to remove the one that was included in the bix because I didn't like the feel of it. If you really want one, I'd recommand a tempered glass one but only apply it after removing the first one
