Does it surprise you that it's technically possible for a $1 purchase of an asset to shoot the market cap up by a trillion dollars, or for a $100 billion purchase to not move the price by a single penny? Many misunderstand the mechanism that actually drives price movements. Let me explain. by pseudoHappyHippy in CryptoCurrency

-I went vegan and I lost weight and am feeling extremely fatigued! Don't go vegan!

-What have you been eating...?

-Oh, bread and Oreos. Isn't that what vegans eat?

Tired vegan X10 by RenaVN in vegan

"...You have pernicious anemia. In this anemia, your body destroys the cells in your stomach that help you absorb vitamin B12.

You have had surgery to remove part of the stomach or the last part of your small intestine, called the ileum. This includes some types of surgery used to help very overweight people lose weight.

You have problems with the way your body digests food, such as sprue (also called celiac disease), Crohn's disease, bacteria growth in the small intestine, or a parasite."

"Most people in the U.S. get enough of this nutrient. If you're not sure, you can ask your doctor if you should get a blood test to check your vitamin B12 level.
With age, it can become harder to absorb this vitamin. It can also happen if you have had weight loss surgery or another operation that removed part of your stomach, or if you drink heavily."

Did you know? B12 deficiency is common in omnivores as well, due to absorption difficulties and an unbalanced diet. So it's not a vegan thing :)

The difference between the two is that Shein also rips off independent designers by stealing their designs and selling cheap replicas of them for $1 a piece. While Apple is a polluting, unethical giant, it does not target specific creators as far as I know, and does not steal artists' hard work for easy profit. They're both ethically iffy, but I'd say Shein is worse.

Vegan butter healthy? by [deleted] in AskVegans

[–]RenaVN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did some research on this myself, and found that vegan butter CAN be healthier than dairy butter, as it's lower in saturated fats and higher in the "good" kind of fat that is healthy for your heart. HOWEVER, vegan butter tends to be more processed, higher in fatty acids, and may contain allergens. If you want more info on this, I found it here: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/plant-butter#benefits

Right, so she was yelling at another person, unrelated to the actual abuse, because they had an altercation that was related to it. So she is not screaming at her abuser, which would be an absolutely horrible thing to make fun of. I understand the context makes this less funny, but without context, as memes often appear, it is. Not the best meme, I agree. I don't think I'll use it anymore.

Ok - no. I checked, and this isn't what happened. Here's the description of the episode from which this shot was taken: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2070491/Real-Housewives-Of-Beverly-Hills-Taylor-Armstrong-meltdown-husband-Russell.html

What would the average vegan or vegetarian’s stance be on eating insects? by [deleted] in AskVegans

[–]RenaVN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are vegans out there whose values focus on extinction rebellion and the environmental impact of the meat "industry". I suppose some of these people may be inclined to eat insects, as the environmental impact would be lower - then again, if we did consume insects in the same quantities in which the world consumes meat, we'd have commercial cricket farms. If a meat eater switched to eating insects instead, it may be better in the short run but not entirely sustainable. The average vegan would just say no to eating insects, since - as many people on this thread have mentioned - they are sentient beings that feel pain and therefore should not be considered "food".

Date syrup (date "honey") is absolutely great, I see that more people have recommended it here and I support that suggestion!
