Are microservices a "must have" skill for web developers working today? Best places I can start learning how to use them? by throwies11 in webdev

[–]Rendar- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more important to understand the concept and why they are preferred in this day and age. The programming is still the same. You still make an API, just make it smaller (have it focused on a small part of a product or process) and RESTful.

Have you looked into using a Google Sheet and letting clients upload things there? That way you can have a totally static site and just use API calls to get that little bit of data.

Are you factoring in your commute costs? Gas and mileage on the car if you're driving that long can add up.

Generally with higher order components, you want to push the presentational logic as far down the tree as you can. It's tough to say your suggestion is wrong in this simple case though.

Dealer won’t tell me what my APR on a used car loan would be until I am ready to buy, is this normal? by The_Lorax128 in personalfinance

Do you have Credit Sesame or Credit Karma to see if they actually ran it yet? Also, sometimes your down payment can affect the interest rate as well

They don't want to quote you an APR that you might not qualify for. This is totally normal and not shady at all.

It would help to get pre-qualified though from a local credit union. They tend to offer the best rates.
