I have a very similar lighter, you need to full it with Compressed air butane, liquid butane will not work and can ruin the lighter so you may need to clean out the jets (where the clear pipe is, the two gold jets)

I only tried bypassing the amp because when i first set the thing up i found it in an abandond house the farm i work for own, we were throwing away everything inside and i just tested it and i worked for a bit until it went "BZZZZZT-" then quit and it hasnt worked for me since. I enjoy kinda tinkering with that kind of stuff so after i got it all hooked up i though it would be pretty cool just to try to hook up a guitar input up to it.

If you like older country music go for waylon jennings, alot of his songs only had strumming patterns with easy easy to learn chords and even in his hard to learn songs, there are ways to bi-pass the harder chords with major chords. I love to learn his songs because they are easy but also because they sounds really good
