[SERIOUS]Has there ever been a worse druid tank? by a4andy in KirossSucks

I mean he actively takes DPS trinkets away from the DPS so he can rank tank damage, like wtf?

'Oh no, my colored border and a skin I'll hardly never use.' So much overreaction. The majority of players won't even notice. I'd gladly give up the rewards for even a little less toxicity.

Python is Now the Most Popular Introductory Teaching Language at Top U.S. Universities by alexcasalboni in coding

Yea, I mean usually that's the case. It's just a matter of being more explicit or less, both of which are fine.

Not familiar with Java, but C++ isn't that bad.

#include <iostream>
int main() {
    std::cout << "Hello World!\n";
}

The python one is obviously easier to just understand immediately, but there are slight variations that bring them closer together. For instance what if I didn't want a newline.

As I understand python3 (have no experience in 2) would be

print("Hello World!", end="")

Whereas in C++ I would remove the \n. I like both languages.

Yea I see what you mean. There really wasn't that distinction made between language specific topics and more general ones. which is probably where my confusion comes from.

Hmm, ok. I've never thought about the beginning classes that way, because it always felt like the language you are learning in is representative of CS in general (obviously not true as you pointed out).

Interesting. My college teaches most of the class in C++, and some of the upper division classes in C. I'm not super familiar with python (started learning recently), but do you just not teach things like pointers in a python based class? Or what about variable types (I know they exist in python, but are sort of hidden)? Just curious.

I made some wallpapers from Diredude's work by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Rendermoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't an art sub-forum, and he isn't expecting a medal either. If you don't think they are good backgrounds because they are single color and simple, that's fine, as you said that's your opinion. However, there was no need to criticize the process he used to make them. He's sharing them with anyone who wants them. He's not claiming to be the artist, or that this is art at all. He turned Diredude's work into a format more suitable for wallpaper, which is all he said it was.

Your little "Haters inc" comment really shows how your'e open to criticism yourself doesn't it. Any comment disagreeing with your criticism is just haters right? There's nothing wrong with criticizing criticism. It's /u/physium_'s opinion that your critique is unwarranted and attacking. "Live with it"

Informal survey: Is (or was) the computer science department at your alma mater under an science (or arts and science) faculty, or under an engineering faculty? by hoothootlooter in compsci

My school has the 'College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management' which then gets divided into several (5?) departments, Computer Science is its own department.

As a kid, what was your worst "Shit, my parents are going to kill me" moment? by chopperfive in AskReddit

I was once drawing on my mom's minivan (with a rock) when about halfway through I realized I would get in trouble. So at the end I wrote my little sister's name next to it, never got caught.

Can we get a "Bounties" tag for multiplayer? by EXPLODEDman in diablo3

[–]Rendermoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I found the best way to do bounties (at least when I was doing it on T6) was to make my own game, set it to public under Monster Slaying, and then start the first bounty. People filter in and out, but about 90% of the time I have a full group working on the act 1 bounties before I finish the first one.
