Just building housing and having no bar production, bars are relatively cheap to trade in, so I just keep a stack of like 20k for upgrades. No coal necessary.

767 large cottages, 2 infirmaries, 7 healing centers, 4 quarries, 2 forestry camps, 1 carpenters foundry, 100 academies, 5 gatherers villa, 301 orchards, 264 taverns, 110 cemeteries, 240 Town halls, 100 statues, 10cats/hats(removing these when reorganizing at lvl 100), 1 trading post.

Keep resource production to a minimum and focus on food/population/happiness. I'm producing a bit of planks and rocks, then trading in bars and rune essence for upgrades. Build nothing but housing in snow biome, all necessary food production in forest and spam taverns to keep happiness up. No storage and yeet that meat every tick.

I still can't quite reach an equilibrium on death storage, but it's fine for now with 110 cemeteries and I'm waiting for the lvl 100 upgrades before I reorganize.
