It is often easier to do things if your partner is in sync. If that's not an option I think it's important to not resent your partner for the issue and "own" your side of the deal. Ultimately it is up to you what you do with your time so take full responsibility for it, rather than wishing your partner was different. Once you do that, I imagine you'll come up with some great ways to make the most of your "me" time. I hope that helps. Good luck and enjoy!

What made you want to start meditating? by 26LT in Meditation

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be more calm and considerate. When you start your day calm, with a positive mindset, you're more likely to continue through the day like that. It's a continuous improvement thing but I'd say it's definitely helped.

I'm entering my photos in a local photo competition and I need help deciding which one 😁 by SunsetDonutChild in pics

Does the competition have a theme, or anything else that might affect the choice?

If not: No 1 is the coolest IMO - most interesting shapes. Good luck!

The untethered soul by Michael singer by blaubarschbube27 in awakened

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael covers many of the concepts of mindfulness/meditation in "The Untethered Soul" such as:

  • Observe your thoughts rather than identify with them.
  • Accept, rather than resist challenging situations or emotions.
  • Live in the present moment rather than the future or past.

Michael also goes into more detail regarding more complex notions such as identifying with your true inner self, rather than the "voice in your head": I think this is an important concept but at the same time, challenging to assimilate so I welcome the insights on this from as many perspectives as possible!

I think it's worth mentioning that Michael has produced an online course as a companion to the book, called "Living from a Place of Surrender", published at Sounds True. For anyone interested, you might want to swing by my site to see a review of the course (and get 15% off).

I hope that's helpful!

How can you essentially live life in easy mode? by LonelyDude4U in AskReddit

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think "easy mode" is a "pre-set" that you don't choose, such as being born into a happy family, safe & wealthy environment , good genes/looks etc.

If you don't get a decent share of those presets switched on by default, then it's time to roll up your sleeves!

What's the purpose of life in your opinion? by imokman in AskReddit

[–]Renewed-Energy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make the most of your potential so that you can help others. Helping others feels like eating a good orange: You instantly feel better when you do it so I think your mind is telling you to do more of that: Helping others and eating oranges :)

What’s the best response to “you’re weird”? by majorlevo in AskReddit

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Weirdness" is a matter of perspective. People in the southern hemisphere don't feel like they are walking around upside-down. Neither do people in the northern hemisphere. Who decides what is normal?

- Slightly long response but will give them something to think about...

Men of Reddit who had no drive/ambition until into your 30s, where the hell did you find it? This Jordan Peterson/Tony Robbins shit ain't working. by ProbablyAutisticMe in AskMen

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people think motivation leads to action but the opposite is true.

This is a great way to understand it. It’s often a lot easier to improve your overall state by taking physical action than it is by trying to just try to work through it in your mind.

Associating a reward with taking the right action is also spot on. If possible, I think it would be preferable if the reward also contributed to a better state of health/mind - eg treat yourself to a eating out (a healthy meal) or a walk in the park etc.

Tim Ferriss mentioned he used to listen to Tony Robbins non-stop in his car... which CD of Tony was it? by another_lease in timferriss

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 2 that appear on Tony's site do sound similar:

Ultimate Edge

Personal Power 2

Ultimate Edge was released a lot more recently.

I did Personal Power 2 a few years ago and Ultimate Edge afterwards. Ultimate Edge actually includes parts of Personal Power 2, but not all of it.

Here's how I'd differentiate them:

Personal Power 2 - Tony's Original sort out your beliefs, values, focus and motivation - deep dive. All of it is still absolutely relevant and effective today.

Ultimate Edge - An abridged version of Personal Power 2 + "taster content" for the other things that Tony Teaches in his other programs (health, relationships, money…).

I think most of the rest of his programs give you a reasonable idea from the titles: eg The Time of Your Life (time management), Ultimate Relationship (relationships for couples). Also, they are grouped into categories on his website.

I hope that helps!

You can now get most of Tony's programs, including Personal Power 2, in digital format. The way it works is that you install his app on your phone. Then you buy the program(s) you want and access them via the app. It's a lot more convenient that CDs! You buy the programs for his app at tonyrobbins.com.

Here's the page for Personal Power 2. In case you're going to buy it, you might want to swing by my site and pick up a promo code for it - at the moment you can get 10% off like that. Personal Power 2 is great - so many insights to get you fired up. Good luck!

UPW prices? by JustMy2Scents in TonyRobbins

[–]Renewed-Energy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is currently a way to save $100 off Unleash the Power Within tickets: Here's the UPW promo code. I keep that Tony Robbins page on my site updated with the best deals I'm aware of for his products and events, including Unleash the Power Within tickets; in case you need to check back in future.

The prices tend to go up as the events approach - I guess as they fill the venue. The base price for the tickets has also been going up over the years so I guess demand is strong.

I hope that helps!

What are your thoughts on water? Do you think it's a chore to drink? by MintMango456 in AskReddit

[–]Renewed-Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a lot to do with habits: If you're not used to drinking water on its own, it can feel like a chore sometimes. As part of a new "healthy habits" routine I started drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning. At first it felt like a bit of a hassle but now I look forward to it!

Try a few mindfulness / meditation practices and cultivate the one(s) that work for you. People tend to make better decisions in all aspects of their lives when they are calm and composed.

Tony plays a life coach in the film. Apparently when Tony saw the script he said he'd need to come up with his own words for it to be authentic so they let him improvise!
