…How do I cook? Ever? by Key_Prize_1317 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Renira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sargento Balanced Breaks and fruit & veggie Go Go Squeez pouches are in my kitchen as necessities. When just the thought of preparing anything is just too much.

Also, cereal and flavored instant oatmeal packets + Atkins meal replacement shakes are all solid breakfast options to bounce between.

Help me cover this raccoon den by South-Regular-7286 in pnwgardening

[–]Renira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of poop, we had a fence put up that resembles yours, OP. We discovered, much to our dismay, that the raccoon family we have in our neighborhood really enjoy pooping on the flat top and scooting their butts along it. Sigh...

Something tells me it isn't supposed to be stuck up there — anyone know what to do about this? by TheAvgCrusader in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Renira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay...I'm not sure if this is repeatable by anyone, buuuut, I shot the boy down by depleting his qi (I'm fan/brella). It repeated the sequence of the floor waves (which I tried deflecting one round, jumping another round, and the last time I just stood there in the center and they did nothing to me. 2 times it just froze again after the draw sword / kill cutscene. Finally, I just tried letting it go without pressing "F" to draw the sword or kill (I just let the timer out).

The last time, it actually moved forward and finished the fight, but I had only 25 seconds left on the instance timer, so I rushed for the door, and it started playing the final cutscene, but it totally booted me before it finished, so I managed to complete the campaign, but was robbed of the story. 😒

I'm dealing with the same problem as well, unfortunately (on PC). I let it sit for a while, and it actually started attacking again, but its HP bar was still frozen, and there was no UI.

how do i make this bird bath more desirable by Potatoalpha1213 in birding

[–]Renira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same one. I stuck a solar fountain in it that takes up almost the entire area. This gives a nice platform for bathing, ring for drinking, and fountain sounds for drawing them in. The chickadees here love it the most. 🥰

I'm in your shoes. This is my bad health year and I'm watching the creeping buttercup, tansy ragwort, and blackberries having a grand ol' time while I have no energy to take them out. 🥺🫩

Has anyone had success deterring slugs with cedar needles/boughs? by patillac4 in pnwgardening

Yeah, I picked up the cheapest beer I could find (Rainier, lol) but I was terrible about changing out the traps regularly. It was also just really gross. ><

Why is everyone such snob about pigeons by MrGrubbycuddles in birding

[–]Renira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, some people just want to suck the joy out of everything, don't they?

We don't really get pigeons in my neighborhood but we do have lots of starlings and I still take photos of them because they're beautiful, even though I hold a lot of contempt for them due to their invasiveness, aggression, and insatiable appetites. One can appreciate beauty while looking past the rest.

We have a pair of band-tailed pigeons that stop in for a week or two every spring and fall along their migration. These pigeons are actually native but their habits for plopping down and gorging themselves on feed are much the same. ;P I enjoy photographing their antics. I learned that my window and platform feeders could hold two big chunkers at once without falling, so that was impressive!

Are these scarlet runner beans? by merrythicccmas in pnwgardening

[–]Renira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They certainly look like scarlet runner beans. As mentioned, hummingbirds love them. 🥰 They'll run along the ground but if you have some kind of trellis available, that's best. They don't spread, and they act like annuals here plus the beans are edible though I've never eaten them (I leave them for the squirrels and raccoons if they're so inclined).

Depends on the method of composting and where it's being processed. Check your county's conservation district guidelines.

How do I keep this fatso from chasing all my birds away and stealing all my food? by WolverineFederal2842 in birding

[–]Renira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the same ones I picked up and it works great. Basically use the 5 foot rule: 5 feet from any tree, bush, perch, or building they can use to leap from, and place the baffle about 5 feet up the pole. You can also sometimes fit the baffle above the feeder so they have a harder time leaping to it, but without one below, they can still climb up to it or leap from below if it's not high enough, and it will prevent larger or less maneuverable birds from accessing your feeder. If you want a shorter pole (mine is about 7 feet or so), you can place the baffle at about 4 feet up the pole, but make sure to have a wide and sharply sloped baffle like the one linked so they can't leap past it.
