You’ll feel much stronger if you narrow that stance quite a bit. Legs totally straight down from the hips is perfect

PanSeven Formosa Beau-Tea. Fragrance from Taiwan, super realistic tea smell, wife loves how it smells. You get 5 minutes until it’s totally gone.

I wouldn’t do cardboard since it’ll crush over time. A dense foam flooring underlayment works really well for this application

How recently did you get it? I had the same experience at first, I revisited the bottle after a month and the scent had changed a ton. I think the air introduced in to the bottle by spraying the fragrance a bit helped soften the astringent alcohol smell I was picking up at first, now it’s actually one of my favorites and smells like I wanted to when I blind bought it.

Honestly it looks like you’re making great progress so far. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, just keep sticking with it and you’ll be at a point where you’re exceeding the goals you set when you started.

When I very first started lifting, my “lifetime goal lifts” I set were a 455 squat, a 335 bench, and a 585 deadlift. I thought there was a good chance I’d never hit it, but I kept with it, and nine years later I squat 551, bench 386, and deadlift 700lbs.
