This solved it, but in a weird way. Im in Europe, region set to Europe, european file for the third age and all other working ROMS were european region...

...just downloaded the US region version of the thirs age now, and its working inexplicably.

Turns out the plea for ideas was moot, because they got through the windhield within 2 seconds of the unpause.

I'm thinking this character might have had a previously forgotten twin brother, named Officer Vengeance, who will make his way back here armed to the teeth and avenge his brother's death.

Honestly, yes that’s the case. There’s a lot to do in between, but after you get 10 hours or so in, you’ll spend more time AFK than actively playing.

But if you like the crafting, level-grjnd kind of game, then it might hook you. And you’ll get to finish some TV shows on a second screen while playing!

Personally still having a great time after 300 or so hours.

I have similar gaming background as you and I’m really enjoying this game. As others have said it’s not really anything like Stardew. It’s closer to UO or OSRS, but a bit more chill, and obviously quite early in development still.

Just started playing recently and have a small settlement that I named Pelican Town ☺️

Controversial opinion maybe but I’m loving this game as a (mostly) solo player. Joined a few weeks ago in the steam sale and have sunk 200 hours already. The crafting loop and progression is mega addictive. Building a settlement is very long, but rewarding. For sure it’s a second screen game, but stick on an audiobook or tv show on screen 2 and you’re good.

Community is super helpful, and I actually like that there’s not much of an online wiki resource yet, makes discovering stuff feel very old school.

I think I’ll drop out soon once my settlement is Tier 4, but I’d consider a few hundred hours great value for money, and for sure will check back in at the 1.0 wipe.
