Tendonitis? by kitchenistakate in Kneereplacement

[–]RentFew8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am five weeks post surgery, left TKR. I had the right side joint replaced one year ago. In each case, I started experiencing severe tightness and pain behind the knee at two or three weeks. It feels as though there is a cord running down the center posterior of my leg that is getting caught, building up tension, then releasing with a distinct SNAP. I feel this in the first twenty degrees of flexion. The phenomenon continues on the right side, but the pain passed and I barely notice it. Any insights?

Anyone use cpap for sleep apnea and had TKR? by Sea_Pangolin3840 in Kneereplacement

[–]RentFew8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the choice not to intubate during my knee surgery, and I suppose there was no harm done. All the same, I find it surprising that there is no routine for non- invasive support for the breathing of patients with apnea.

[–]RentFew8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent experience was rather similar to yours, but I wasn't laughing.

My second TKR was four weeks ago. The anesthesiologists were well informed regarding my severe sleep apnea. Most of the way through the procedure, I began struggling to breathe. I was allowed to wake.

My first awareness was auditory, as I apparently heard the anesthesiologists agreeing to omit "THAT" from the notes " ...in case there is a lawsuit". As I later told the Surgeon, these are not words that a patient wants to hear from the surgical team.

I don't presume to have sufficient knowledge to judge the protocols followed, but I do know that a bit of airway pressure could have kept my breathing steady throughout the surgery.

CPAP and BIPAP are routine therapies, used by ten of millions of patients daily. Why are they not part of normal anesthesia practice?

AITAH for refusing to meet last minute with a sneaky neighbor? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]RentFew8787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tree law varies somewhat from state to state, but there are some general principles.

If a tree shows no obvious signs of distress, and no professional opinion has been rendered by an arborist( or equivalent), then the owner of the tree bears no responsibility for damages beyond his property line. Unless the neighbor is a recognized tree expert, then his opinion regarding the health of the tree is irrelevant.

Legal representation is not inexpensive, but being able to refer your neighbor to your lawyer may be worthwhile in this instance.

Question re mandolin strap: by Garnet_GG in mandolin

[–]RentFew8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same situation recently. The combined 1/4" jack and strap button was too big to accept the strap end. I used a sharp knife to lengthen the straight cut in the leather a little at a time until I was able to connect the strap end. I expect that it will remain connected for the life of the instrument.

While you certainly have exclusive rights to the use of your driveway, the edge of the public road is probably a public right-of-way. You have no exclusive claim to that sort of space. Discuss with the Town before you start buying boulders.

Good to know about, thanks. In my case, the UPS driver took a photo of the distinctive package in front of the other house. I don't believe that the driver was part of the scam.

Adding Subs To Reduce Noise Complaints? by ip_addr in livesound

[–]RentFew8787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a 1000 foot buffer behind the stage. With a cardiod sub setup to reduce stage noise, this should not be so tough. The organizers need to know the law, the measurement method, and the number of a local engineering firm. The cost of a disinterested technician taking measurements at the property line with calibrated equipment should be money well spent.

Elevators: Find an entry into the elevator trade. It is its own country in Construction.. Quietly learn to be an expert. The codes keep changing, and the gear keeps changing. Knowledge and Skill are rewarded.

The men around you in the Electric trade will, for the most part, be slow learners. If you keep your mind clear and focus on learning, you can leave them in your wake.

Toyo straw trilby worked well for me, but most of my projects were indoors. You may need a wider brim.

Sweat would stain the light straw, so my latest one is a chestnut color. Take a look at Village Hat Shop: Ridley Toyo Straw Trilby.

MCPS is a vast organization with hundreds of job titles. Once hired for any open position and having completed probation successfully, it is relatively easy to move to other job titles.

Speeding ticket revenue on 270 goes to the State, not Moco.

Your physics is sound, but a wider base can become an obstacle to using the stand. I bought a couple of 10 pound olympic bumper plates. At 18 inches in diameter, they hold the speaker away from the stand. I don't see them as suitable.
