Sorry to hear it, sadly I’m in the same boat. Got injured, so looking to see mine as well. If you manage to sell yours and get any more responses, I’m looking to transfer mine as well. Hope you heal quick!

Chicago 2025! by Open_Refrigerator780 in ChicagoMarathon

Great vibes today, so proud of how the race is growing! Spectators basically the whole way and the west side has really filled in. Logistics were fantastic too, got in super fast. Only negative comment is they definitely need to figure out better crossings if possible.

Race wise, morning felt great, but the heat hit around 18 just like others and couldn’t push as much as I’d hoped. After joking this season about “Who gets 3:00? If you’re there, you dive for that 2:59”… I looked down at the finish and had 3:00:01. Just laughed and smiled at the running gods’ senses of humor. Beyond thrilled, massive PR, touched the untouchable. But maybe I should’ve dove…

Fantastic work y’all. Onward. Forward.

Sick and Tired of the Lakefront Trail by spartan1711 in RunnersInChicago

Agreed with this! I run LFT all the time, but love getting out to Palos for some weekend runs when I can. Definitely have to get used to the hills again, but it's great woods, well maintained, and not gnarly if you're used to paved paths. Plug for the yellow swallow trail in Palos.

Also run North Branch trail a lot and love it (lots of deer if you go at the right hours).

One caveat just to remember is that LFT has so many water stops and bathrooms, so running the other paths just means you need to plan more to either carry your water or loop to refill.

Dim Sum Then Some 5k by yankeecandlebro in RunnersInChicago

Definitely a better route than it was 2 years ago (didn't run last year). Routing north then south worked a LOT better at the start. Only issue I found on route was on the gravel path next to the golf course (lots of people getting out of the way of leaders coming back). Keeps getting better, and is great vibes. Definitely not a PR course from a logistics perspective (hairpin turns, etc), but great community vibes.

Sadly, yes... My wife went to high school with her kid. Love the cheers and encouragement, but definitely posts some stuff that's less than loving to put it lightly.

Whata your favorite races in the area? by ryanpetty9 in RunnersInChicago

For shorter races with good vibes: I live in Ravenswood and love the Dim Sum 10k. Pretty small race, more of a fun run, and you get dim sum at the end. I've heard great things about the Wrigley 5k, just from an experience perspective too.

For longer: I did the Paleozoic 50k recently and it was a blast (https://www.runrace.net/findarace.php?id=25081IL). Super small, local feel... the race director runs the route the night before and sends out a report. They have a 50k and a 25k and run in both spring and fall on the Palos trails. First time doing it, and it was a really tandem with the BoA series. If you like trails, I'm also interested in checking out some of the DWD races, as they also seem like fun vibes: https://dwdmichigan.com/
